oh yeah, I forgot to ask you what kind you like and who you listen to, I've got a pretty extensive collection, maybe we could trade some music 8)

Unfortunately like 75% of my music collection was stolen while moving to new apartment. So much money and time spent trying to build it up too.

I listen to many but here are a few, Amon tobin, Funky Porcini, Square pusher, didjworks, crystal method, aphex twin, Allied force, Dillinja, Roni Size, Norman Cook, Grooverider, Loxy and ink, Coldcut, and a bunch of other icannt bother to remember...

I think you take it to far when you think if someone likes to use genres then thay don't care about the music. But listening to the music for the last 10 years one comes to understand even the slightest differences in the music.

People don't only like a band if it is considered certian a certian genre(well, I guess some do and those are the people I think you're aiming at). But they only use the genre system to seek out more music.

I don't think that they don't care about the music but I do think that its an unnecessary classification that ultimately hurts music. If you asked a band what genre they thought they were I bet most would say something different then you think or would say that don't even fit into a genre at all. A person's interpretation of music changes from person to person, nothing is set in stone.

That's like people calling all electronic music "techno", no you fucks, techno is a genre on its own, then you've also got house, trance, breakbeats, jungle, drum & bass, big beat, trip hop, lounge, and then you've got those genres mixing with each other, plus other stuff that isn't even electronica, but people classify it all as "techno"
