Hey Geno... just because your LS puts work in to hold a mob, do you think that the JP LS thats always there won't? I think they drink coffee too.

Fuck NA servers. I don't think there would be enough to house all the people. Then they'd whine that its over populated or ppl are dominating with bots. The point is, people will never stop complaining.

I think the best way to make everyone happy is to just have a vendor in the Cathedral either sell or give you a quest for abjurations. Then everyone will be happy and they can do more Ballista than waste 3 hrs at camps. They should make the CoP dragons "Instance" type onry too so there is plenty of time to get everyone together and fight it properly. Who needs the stress of dropping everything and rushing to Attowa Chasm? Oh wait... I do. Even if its when I just get home from work and my shoes aren't even off, I'm running my little taru thru to whip some Tiamat ass.

I really would like an Abj. dispenser. I'll be hella pissed if I don't see an E. Body drop for me soon. Gimme gimme gimme now! *Smacks Nidhogg*

Having NA servers is wishfull thinking, but think for a moment how it could be done. Total amount of servers is what? 30+? Split that in 2 and move JP population to one half and NA to other. Sure it would even the playing field and it won't be a latency issue anymore, but look at what it leaves...

What about UAE players, European players and many others. Doing this defeats the purpose of FFXI, and that is multicultured-international game.

Making petition is pointless, they have suggestion e-mail for it. If more e-mails with suggestions you have regarding HNMs and latency issues start coming in, I'm sure they're bound to take notice.

if you're on midgard like you appear to be, you'd know that we have ALL 3 ground kings in NA time due to the hard work of linkshells on the server, so good luck claiming against those JP botters that live in florida at 6pm today

no, it's not just him. i think those are good ideas and i've seen many other good ideas (the one in the actual petition is one of the bad ideas imo).

there are lots and lots of good ideas that all vary in different ways that can work and would work better than the current system, but because there are so many better ways, it's hard to get everybody on the same page on which is the best way.

and ultimately, it doesn't matter which is the best way because if SE implements just one of them it'd be good enough to satisfy most complaints and if SE doesn't implement any of them than its totally pointless which change is "the best one they won't make".

The HNM situation is really different per server. There's a JP LS called KFC on our server (Ifrit) that will basically camp every HNM. They will even send 3-4 people to Aspi, 5-6 to King Behemoth, 5-6 to Nidhogg, hold the mobs off and go to the others and just waste the mobs one at a time. Like I was saying in the other posts about the new HNMs, after a year of being an HNM LS, we only have 4 dragon kills on our trophies list, 3 being Fafnir, 1 being Nidhogg. In my opinion showing up to camp a mob for 3 hours day after day is work enough, especially having to sit there and watch it be killed by the same group of people every day. The only mob we have a slight chance of getting claim on is Adamantoise. Arlania (LS mate of mine), also being on the Ifrit server, I could see why she would be just as frustrated as the rest of us... basicaly every NA LS on Ifrit feels that way

By reciprocating I mean I will still show up and mash my voke macro after every maintenance, no matter how hard SE tried to put things back in JP time. (Yes, its a real conspiracy!) Stick it to the man and bring it back to our time. Rinse & repeat.

Sure, I can stop paying SE, but for what? I live to kill internet dragons, dogs and turtles. I live for the drops that my LS kindly give to me for my hardwork. Why give up a good thing?

ok my post was too long, my only point was to see what aratharm would pick out of it, and how I could debate him. I don't care if the rest of you didn't read it. I don't mean to start a flame war or something with him. He just seems to be the only one (and the guy from his LS) who's really standing up saying this HNM situation is fair.

We can hold adamantoise for 8 hours into (over a period of different trial days) the worst possible time for JP players to be online at. But we will still see the usual JP crew sitting in the corner. Nothing we can do will change that fact.

Out of curiousity, have you actually done this and tried it?

Yes, not quite 8 hours, but we have done it before. Not to get it out of JP time. Just to give us a chance to camp it a day longer. There was no point in doing it for 8 hours if the good time for us was 1-2hrs instead of 8. So same premises. Also I'm going to presume by "JP time" you guys mean a time that's inconvenient for you. JPs dont have time.

In all instances of HQ claims on Shiva, some high luck factor was involved. I can still count these claims on one hand.
#1- KB- We camped early in the day for us, a day after an update I believe (coincidental, that I think most bots don't work by the day after an update?), with a small team, and outclaimed a (from the way I heard it) small portion of the usual campers. I believe Nid or something popped at the same time. This was, and still is, the only instance of us winning a pull, in the probably hundreds of camps (behemot, faf, or ada) we've been at. We killed it, and got Koenig legs and defending ring.

#2- Aspi- Months later, we camped Aspi on day 5, DURING a KB camp (i think around 5 AM JP time). The aformention 'monopoly' LS was at the KB camp expecting it to pop. Aspi popped, behemoth popped. We killed aspi and got Crimson body.
#3- Aspi- Couple weeks later, a JP LS, (the second strongest on the server) was camping Aspi, while many of us were doing other things (was a bad time for us, were going to enter dynamis not too long from the time of the camp). This was during BOTH other HQ camps and pops (yes, all 3 Kings popped same day). I was the only one from my LS at the pop, going to get ToD. Aspi popped, the JP LS didn't pull it for some reason (I have no fucking clue why.. maybe AFKers.). I told my LS to come, they dropped what they were doing, a RNG entered the zone, shadowbound it right before they could do anything, and more people entered the zone, just in time to save eachother and kill it. Got Koenig shoes.

This would never happen on Midgard. All 3 kings ALWAYS have competition on our server. There would NEVER be an uncontested Aspid. But regardless, off 3 king fights you got THE most rare drops from them. Defending Ring, Keonig Feet, and Crimson Body. My LS has it the other way around, we have fought 2 KB's and 1 Aspid ever, our drops? M. Abj: Legs, A. Abj: Feet, and D. Abj: Feet. Out of 3 fights we got the worse drop 2 times. So consider yourself a lil lucky there

I never said we weren't lucky. Hell I've never said we were the worst server in terms of JP competition. We are pretty fucking bad though, and you don't seem to understand that your not. I know you have NA competition, and shitloads of drama, but you still have a much better chance of getting the claim. I've talked to members in r0 who admit that to me.

Some players, I would dare say, work even harder then many of the LSs on servers such as Midgar. Have you a single player in your LS that attending every Fafnir (yes every single fucking one) hunt for 4 months? Whether or not his LS was there, he was there. Have you players that would CAMP a kraken club, and when it finally drops, sell it just for the CHANCE of buying one of a Dalmatica abj, after attending most every Nid/aspi camp to build image in the JP minds, only to be shot down because the LS would rather a Lv24 SMN with no plans of leveling it get an A: abjuration body?

Nope, try the last 7-8 months everyday the same people showing up to camps. And you're walkin on the line now, you have NO RIGHT to make that statement. The reason why I argue this petition is BECAUSE we've had to go through so much and work so hard everyday to be where we are today, the only LS I know that understands this is Rzero. Having to go through long periods of losing pull after pull, yet having the same people show up day after day only to FINALLY find a way to win (and NO it's not fucking bots, if anyone thinks bots win pulls you have no clue how this game works) So please, don't judge the fact that we win pulls that it means we don't have to work as hard as you. We don't just decide when we wanna go to an unclaimed Fafnir and kill it at our leisure. We're there everyday, competing, and have earned every single kill we've got.

Ok, i didn't mean to sound so accusatory there. But you have been throughout this thread. Claiming you have to work hard to get HNMs. People telling you they can't get HNM. You saying you have to work hard. Kinda insinuates we don't work hard, when we do work as hard as you. In 12 months of camping, I've been at every hunt I can, which is a vast majority of them. I have as much right as you do to do so.

If Ara, or anyone else thinks winning a pull from JP is not only possible, but even fair, then I would dare you take make a mule on Shiva and level to 5war. I'll supply a WP (the kind with the mandragora hats :wink: ) and enough gil and power leveling and escorts to do it. Maybe then you could see the difference in our servers.
