As has been stated, Coronach falls somewhere between Slug Shot and Heavy Shot in terms of average damage. Its purpose is the option for continuing a level three chain after one has already been started (please correct this if I'm wrong; the information was a little foggy and that's how I understood it -_-).

The Annhilator itself is a beast of a weapon, and it doesn't rely on Cannonshells as was previously rumoured. You can take your standard Silver Bullets and go to town with it. Big plus in my book.

Toss in the random chance for a 3x normal strength hit and the possibility to critical on top of that and you get some astounding numbers.

So...

Why complain?

It's not like anybody is going to force you to use Coronach nonstop for the rest of your life because they're just in awe that you actually have this god-awfully expensive weapon that any Ranger would sell his left (maybe their right, depends on the Ranger) testicle to the black market's fresh organ department for.

Besides... Arrow's a Taru. And from the looks of other screenshots, he doesn't use a full STR/RATK setup. So what were you expecting? :3

I don't think there are fully upgraded relics on the same server yet. However... I would imagine this could be tested in Dynamis. As much of a clusterfuck as it is, maybe 2 people with lvl 3 weapons can try final WS's to see if they do make sweet new SC love.

Yes but the thing which makes me think it is Ultima is, it is a traditional FF thing (FFVI was the first one, I think) and it is the strongest spell, and it is non-elemental, which makes sense (well ok, strictly spoken it has every element). Since there is no sign of an Ultima spell for BLM (overpowerment, anyone?) my guess they put Ultima in another, FFXI-only form, namely the SC.

FF II was the first FF with Ultima. But FFIV and FFV didn't have it (used Meteo as best spell).
