Sexual preference would not affect much of anything. But sexual preference would be things like preferring sex on the kitchen table, while wearing clown shoes, in airplane restrooms, or while hogtied.

Sexual orientation on the other hand can affect people physiologically. There was a study in the last two or three years that show there is a difference in the length of the ring and index fingers between straight and gay men, and even more recently a study concluded that gay men do not react to female pheromones like straight men do. (In fact, they react to male pheromones as one would imagine.)

I would need to see some data on this study before I would make a judgment on it (sample size, age and race distribution, number of sites, etc), but I am more than slightly skeptical of any study until I see results.

If I remember correctly, straight men are more likely to have longer index fingers, where as gay men are more likely to have index and ring fingers of about the same length.

And no, index finger length is not an indication of being gay. The persistent desire to want to sleep with people of the same sex is though...
