BRD can actually solo just as efectively as a rdm. By effectively I mean not dieing. It requires sleeping, swinging until you hit for more then 0, then sleeping again. Keep utsusemi/stoneskin+blink up and you won't get hit.

RDMs have this thing called higher sword skill which lets them do more damage, they have this thing called en-spells which lets them do even more damage. they have this thing called elemental magic which lets them kill elementals and other physical damage resistant mobs.

the concept of RDM + BRD soloing is similar but BRDs are not "just as efective", they are considerably worse in most cases.

Yeah, Bards can't solo worth shit. RDM also have high enhancing magic for protect and stoneskin and phalanx... and refresh and haste.... and BRDs can only have 2 songs on... and sub job enhancing magic... so rofl

BECAUSE BRD/NIN WITH JSE AND SONGS MEANS YOU CAN RECAST UTSUSEMI REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY FAST WITHOUT GETTING HIT BECAUSE OF THE REALLY REALLY FAST CASTING WHILE DISREGARDING THE NEED FOR HEALING OR OTHER SONGS CAUSE LORD KNOWS ROC CAN'T GET PAST YOUR SHADOWS.

BRD actually can solo Simurgh...sleep lands every single time, bards have done this numerous times on a lot of servers, including my own. It would just take a motherfucking long time.

these guys don't understand cos they didn't know Roc has virtually no resistance to lullaby and full resistance to sleep

the best i've done was solo him down to 3/4hp before alliance came to kill it

another time i claimed with a rdm only, tried ES sleep II, does not land, however by lullaby nuke III we took him down to 1/2 before nin came back

well u c, if all u do is lullaby, lullaby, lullaby, ppl can call a GM for holding NM

but if u hit it, lullaby, utsusemi, hit it, lullaby utsusemi, repeat ppl cannot call a GM
and soon u'll notice Roc either has no regen rate or 1hp a tick or something, hence he is soloable by a bard X)

Especially bards that actually gear up for melee, like me and my +55 STR. You sub nin for Daylight Dagger and Joyeuse, means you build tp faster and do alot more damage then /whm, and can use Evisceration which can actually do pretty nice damage.

Of course, when I want to waste a possible 3 hours waiting for Roc to pop plus another 4-5 hours actually killing it, i'll let you know. Until then, i'll farm castle zhavl with /thf. But if a BRD, or DRG manage to solo mission 5-1, please let me know. I've heard stories of a RDM solo'ing Roc till it did Benediction until their LS mates made it, I think it took 2 and a half hours to get it there. This is of course not sleep hitting like you plan to do, which would probably take you half a day or longer, and humans are prone to error and fatigue, nevermind boredoem and demotivation. You can't solo Roc Moggy, solly.

heh JSE only has haste that affects utsusemi recast, i also have a harp, belt for that XD

and as for regen on hp, peaon V stack IV regens at 15hp a tick for quite a while, lullaby lets me recast utsusemi and both paeon, and considering i have elegy i'm quite sure at most i'll take 1 hit from Roc if i don't bother sleeping him when i lose my last shadow.

yeah it'll take a while to kill him, but with right gear sword swing from joyeuse hits roc above 100 and ws varies 300-800

Roc has massacre elegy, but he shouldn't get it off without my shadows up

oh and if u wanted to know massacry elegy is 50% slow X) i stood there to try

prone to error is true, however error of hitting a macro and taking 6 hits b4 realising something is wrong isn't possible for me. maybe ur that shallow u can't stand and fight a mob for hours maybe u don't understand the fun some experiences doing so
i actually enjoy standing fighting a NM for an hour executing commands and decisions perfectly, its quite a nice feeling, like drinking hot chocolate on a cold night X)
i solo'd diamond diag which took exactly an hour the prick wouldn't take elegy and kept doing eva down, but slowly and with some kiting for regen at end i managed to kill him, oh yeah he doesn't sleep lol
i solo'd jelly ring mob in just under an hour as well, that was a very fun fight as i had to pull him away from his spawn and sit between a jelly and ghost, where of course if either had aggro'd i prolly would've died, but it was a very fun fight, and yeah this prick didn't sleep either X)

it isn't exactly hard to get ppl to go kill things, but then theres no challenge

actually i hate leaping lizzy, the mofo killed me 3 times LOL
once when i started the game, had no idea what NM or what the readings of mobs meant, level 7 war ALL RIGHT! died in 3 hits, of course back then he wasn't really camped i think, cos he was still there when i went back
2nd time was when i was leveling drg, was level 10 i think cos i jumped him, well he ate me again
3rd time......omfg he aggro my level 3 blm mule running to jeuno LOL
