The thread has no point. Nobody once came out and defended rap on TV or the radio, because it's shit. But you continue to make broad references to fucking awful examples of a genre rather than accept that some is good, some is bad, just like all other types of music. You don't know a fucking thing about modern rap, and therefore had no basis to start this thread. I know you're bored, but for Christ's sake don't work to hurt the reputation of an entire genre of music because your view of it is more narrow than the inflamed urethra that's made you irritable enough to reply to shit in all bold caps as if I don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Anyway, like I said before, sitting on this side of the fence with Zelv and Oni who can't complete a goddamn English sentence doesn't put me in a great spot, so I'm going to have to bow out of this one. Trying to make music better and consistently recommending good music to people is clearly accomplishing shit on these forums, as bitching and moaning is apparently far more interesting when you're bored at work .

To truthfully answer your question Orf, People like different kinds of music even though some don't think it's good or is even called music.. for example 50 cent why listen to him?
I like his flow, beats, and over all style, someone else might like him for different reasons seeing all his albums went Multi Platinum and where #1 for a long time, am sure that alone states theirs something about his music.
I personally liked his first album but not a lot, it was ok in my opinion but i loved the second one, the beats where better and the songs where just more my kind of style.

Because rap videos have attractive women with nice asses all over them. We're not really listening to the songs, we're looking at the chicks man. Therefore if you dont like rap you're either a chick, or gay. Period.


Seriously. I think people who make the genre generalizations are sad, uncultured, and just plain racist. Just try to imagine for a second that there is a viewpoint out there in the world that is <different> from you own. So you and your buddies didn't like rap when you were growing up.. now nobody in the world is allowed to enjoy it without being odd?

I can't slap out an entire genre like that. I take things song by song. I listen to rap, but at the same time there are even a few country songs I like. I've been to a lot of places, and heard/seen a lot... and sadly I can tell you the only people who ask this are the sad AC/DC headbangin little white boys who don't know better.

For the record, my current favorite bands are Evanesence, and Disturbed.
