Back then, a Kirin's Osode wasn't exactly something that you could find being sold very often like it is now. Like I said,I find it very wrong to accuse people of RMT when your reason is "they didn't beat such and such that drops it" "To obtain such an item, they must have RMT." Things are always sold in bazaars, trade, and AH for whatever price and for whatever item. It's part of the game, and thats how things work.
If people buy the most expensive, rarest items in the game, and you don't know where that money comes from, you can't rule RMT out. And just because people may joke about it doesn't mean they know it for a fact or even care. I still stand by my statement that most people wouldn't even care that much whether or not you RMTed because it doesn't affect them. But statistically speaking, if you were to take every similar situation involving things like Kirin's Osode, Cursed Togi -1, etc., my bet would be that more of those transactions were made possible through RMT than otherwise. If I heard that some NA outside of BG had Herald's Gaiters now, and if I didn't know that that person had some way of getting the millions of gil you'd need to buy them (if you even found an LS who'd sell them), I would suspect it to be RMT too.
Again, nobody's taking any kind of accusatory tone about this, it's merely an anecdotal coincidence. Like Sendoh said, you shouldn't even let it get to you because it doesn't even matter.
