I seem to remember SE saying in an interview I read, "COP is set to end with the introduction of the new Xbox 360 version of FFXI" something like that. Which btw is on different servers with new jobs.

Because without cooperation from other LSs, your chances are slim to none.Originally Posted by Xavier
COP and the story of COP can be two different things. They story is supposed to end, but that doesn't mean that all areas revealed in the expansion will be coming up next patch.Originally Posted by docvicious
If you do all Ranks in all nations, finish all ZMs and do a LOT of quests, you can see that the actual story is broken down in various branches i.e. ZM, CoP, quests and missions. There's a lot of interesting tidbits of information in little quests related to NPCs and the past of Vana'diel.
Bah, wish I could go back and record all NPC conversations related to main story. It'd be nice to have it all put together.![]()
oh how true this is. If only I spent the time leveling DRK on leveling a more useful job.Whereas, any melee can do another melee's job; hit shit. SE made melee expendable
Given current job trends, i'm sure in the following years, attitudes will change from:
toPS LOL YOUR A DRG
PS LOL YOUR A MELEE
I like Janice :D :D :D
Still waiting to level smn more so I dont have to deal with all the stress of whm at stuff, just do my little thing...killin' stuff.... :D
I don't understand what you mean. Slim to none on what?Originally Posted by Hirronimus
We talking about claim here. Right?
On claiming Fafnir. You can't kill what you can't claim. My LS has yet to kill Fafnir or Nidhogg, but we've taken Tiamat to ~10% life without a hitch. Is it because we can't? No, we can't win claim against bots.Originally Posted by Xavier

thats the update
You wish, Milks.
yea, but his avatar is still hot
and xavier go do some testing on mage jobs before you say that. and your "without any gear" is you with a weapon, because if you dont use a weapon (0 dmg 5dmg weaponskills) then i cant cast spells, and thus i will be punching or staffing for 0 dmg 5dmg weaponskills (my retribution record on genbu is 18 /flex).
one complaint i had with this game (at least from blm perspective) was that you weren't fully equipped to do your job by hitting 75. what i mean is, 276 skill is usually not enough to get anything done, so you have to go get good to exceptional gear to raise skill, stats, and everything else to make doing your job on par. since things like kirin are set at lv90, you guys miss out the ass unless you get gear, and we resist out the ass unless we get gear(though not really, i tried a night of full elem skill+ and a night of full dmg+, and i got like the same amount of resists doing both lol). seeing your weaponskill miss or do 5dmg may suck, but expending some 120~mp to do 17 dmg really sucks too, especially if its repetitive. and all you can blame that on is bad luck, since even if you have the 350~ skill needed to match lv90's skill (which unless a fuckton of items were added, i dont think is possible), you are still not guaranteed 100% output on your spell.
strip me of all my gear vs something that gives you problems with misses/low dmg, and even tho i still have a base 700~dmg spell (which is about 1/2 or so if you actually wore gear), i still have exactly the same problem as you - you miss or do lower dmg thanks to your skill vs enemy lv, and i get resists due to skill vs enemy level. elemental seal every 5 mins? ;/
the only thing i guess is that resists are a lot more sporadic than melee dmg, since sometimes you'll get resisted like 7 times in a row, doing <100 each time, then pull out a 1200 or so. i dont see that with melee, but realize that they made a fairly similar effect on melees and mages trying to play offense with the skill crap (and cap, but whatever)
mages have always been generally more useful classes, due to other things they can do, of course, but gear is far from unnecessary for mages
and janice, my #1 complaint with ffxi for a long time is exactly what you posted - melees can get their gear rare/ex (yes i know there's a lot of waiting and chances to drop suck and whatever, you can still get them as rare/ex) while we have to always find stuff to buy. i dunno if its still the same, but it seemed like they've always added more and more rare/ex gear for melees, and we get more jse or whatever, but its all crafted \^.^/
