They consider any program running that messes with FFXI not made by them a third party program I guess.

Don't see the harm in a windower though, but a while ago I heard someone say they considered it 'cheating'. Because you could look up maps, guides, whatever for the game while you played.

If they consider windower a cheat tool, which allows you to look up drops, crafting recepies, maps and strategies, which imo is a same thing as asking a fellow gamer for tips and advice in-game, than they should consider communication in this game as a cheat as well. Is SE dev team really /that/ stupid?

they must consider using a second computer, such as a laptop, to look these things up as cheating too, that's what I did, pulled up maps and stuff on my laptop that was sitting next to my monitor, I was a cheater I guess

I think they shit themselves and made a quick BREAK WINDOWER patch in hopes of stopping the new cheat program. Something more permanent will come along with the July update I guess.

The next update will look something like this:

- Sorry we've run out of any usefull ideas to implement in the game.
- As of next update we'll be removing gobby-bag and mog house expansions due to reasons people have found a way to utilize Mannequins to reduce the need of mule characters.
- Utsusemi spell will be reduced to nothing in a same sense Blink spell counters only 20-40% of attacks. Now players will be hit even with shadows up.
- Furthermore, Ninjitsu may only be used by players with Ninja job as main and may not be used if equiped as subjob.
- Mage Jobs at Lv.75 will have a cap on their MP pool (WHM caps at 800, SMN at 1000, RDM at 500, BLM at 600) We feel that it's more than enough for mages to work with.
- PLD may no longer be used as main tank in EXP PTs or HNMs. We feel that PLDs true potential lies within use of Great Sword and Staff and can be utilized as a great dd in EXP PTs.
- Spell Flash will be made WHM only.
- BRDs will no longer be able to use Ballad II song.
- By popular request we will increase the base STR of WHMs to allow them to participate in SC during EXP PTs and HNM hunts.

They can't really know if people use windower or not though even if it is illegal. Still windower owns and i hope that guy releases the new one with shadow reports on it.
