Yay for intellegent life forms. How can you study a life form w/o studying the environment it lives in? Especially if you're going to utilize their planet.

Guess it proves the point that we can paint the picture of others only as much as our own intelectual capacity allows us.

they had the forethought to plan the destruction of mankind thus they had to do some research. their weakness to water was even more ridiculous than the bacteria weakness because water is not only the most abundant resource on the planet but its visible from space and present throughout the atmosphere.

another thing, world of the worlds says they were studying us for "millions of years" when man has only been in existence in its current form for about 10000 years, and even if they studied us for that long there is only so much you can learn.

all they had to do was go to the mall on a friday or saturday night and watch our species at its prime: bunch of thirteen year girls walkin around lookin like 18 year olds waitin for mom to pick them and their 16 year old boyfriends up.

    they are TRICKSTERS.

The movie never really confirmed that they studied us for millions of years, that was just what that wacko guy said... all that can be certain was that they planned this since before mankind existed since all that shit was somehow buried underneath cities... and we NEVER FOUND IT....

Seriously, you'd have to bury that pretty fucking deep so no one finds it, and if it's that deep, it would be pretty fucking impossible to move that much earth off of you to get out.

And isn't it convenient that they were all buried thousands of years ago on the exact spots that major cities were built?

And what was their motive? "Hey let's bury these super advanced machines on this planet that already has a bunch of different kinds of animals just in case some more intelligent beings develop civilizations and we decide to destroy them for no good reason."

The more I think about it, the more I hate this movie, and at first I sort of liked it.

I thought that was an illusion to show symbolism as it says "The 2 never are seen again."

Best SNES RPG ever btw. Except maybe CT.

I'm.. lazy. I don't want to search through lots of shitty spyware infested emulator / rom websites to find it. 'Cause I'm too facking cheap to buy my own copy of it.

Final Fantasy 3 actually sold very poorly in north america, despite being a massive megahit in Japan. I forget the exact number, but it was around 50,000, plus/minus 20k.

The game, with box and manual in good condition, can fetch up to a hundred dollars or more on eBay these days.

7/10 for me but that's because i like movies like this.

To me, If intelligent life really exist thats far beyond our time, they clearly should see that war is stupid and they should be smart enough to realize that and live in peace.

    but hey, that's just me.

Yeah Almaa LoL I thought about that right away.

And I also was okay with the movie but the more I think of it.. it just doesn't make sense.

Yeah it's pretty silly. Why not just take the planet at the time you were burying the tripods? I think they screwed up with that, they should have just had the tripods come from the sky and then start blowing everything up... the little narator guy says they look at our planet with "envious eyes" well you should have takin the shit back when you were here burying it when we had nothing that would offer any resistance at all. Unless it was fun for them to watch us evolve and they are a macho race who wanted to have some kind of challenge to conquering a world, just to prove they could.

And I'm going to pretend that in Signs the aliens had never encountered water before (they were from FAR far away!) and were merely passing by when they saw earth and decided to try to launch an invasion. But that's only because I like Mel Gibson and M Night Shamalan~ :D
