Okay, this is the key question:
How strong is the refresh effect you get from Gate of Tartarus?
I would assume it's 1-3 =/ altho 4-6 would eb amazingly nice, how about dmg wise refresh, an equation like Refresh ammount = Damage/20 or something, so if you do 100 dmg = 5 Refresh a tic, :3 iono.
i can throw 64 blms at DL as well and get an instant win.Originally Posted by Demosthenes11

That would probably be the biggest and baddest multi-cultural event to ever coordinate, since you'd probably be pulling black mages from NAs and JPs and EUs alike. Dynamis itself is hard enough to administer without people complaining 'Is that my Petasos yet?'
I really don't understand how currency is going up so much. Did I miss the memo where they lowered the drop rate on it? Just pay the 1m for the hourglass, take all currency and let others lot relic...woot you just saved a lot of gil![]()
The problem with that concept, Orfeo, and we put an open discussion on our linkshell before we entered Dynamis once and ended up dragging the subject on for like 40 minutes, was that it simply wasn't motivation enough. It's pretty much a free ride too - somebody shows up, gets what they want, and are never seen again because it doesn't benefit them to show up anymore. Still I believe that's called ganking from what I read in previous threads and that gives people a bad name. Alternatively, you have the people who simply give up after 2-3 runs and just don't show up anymore because they're confident they won't get any relic and it seems like just a waste of time.
If more relic dropped per Dynamis run, it would probably make that system more worthwhile to others but currently it's just not worthwhile enough.
I said before that currency only started to go up when people heard about the first complete relic weapon, beit bow or scythe. Once people heard that relic weapons were real and achievable, people realized that they were actually worth more then they really were. And so the greed began.
Then you level fucking BLM, and go to Dynamis as a BLM, and be expected to GIVE AWAY ALL YOUR CURRENCY to a job that can "be used on a REAL weapon for a REAL melee job."Originally Posted by NynJa

As much as I disagree with Nynja for being a douche about it, I have to clap my hands at him for the last post. That was pretty much a nice way to say 'What did the 5 fingers say to the face? SLAP!'
Hm, you got me there, I will admit that one, I did jump to a conclusion too quickly. However, I don't agree with your original idea, but since you seem to support that theory so much, I do have to ask: How much Dynamis Currency do you posses, How frequently do you sell it, and do you own a Relic Staff?
They say images speak a thousand words:

Remember that the people who have full relics at this point were, for the most part, handed bills. They most likely sponsored each and EVERY dynamis and got all the currency.
I sponsored two dynamises to get to that point. One nasty sando where I walked off with 120 coins, and a VERY generous sando where I walked off with about 430 coins (was a bad run too, we only got like 2 hours worth). The rest was just by whoring bazaar's, or splitting with the rest of my shell for whoever is upgrading (my dynamises are sponsored by the shell, who then sell currency to whoever wishes to buy for upgrades).
Allready got about 50/6100 Tuku shells for 4th upgrade.
And yes, thats a dagger. Why the fuck would I waste 200+++ million gil on a fucking relic staff!?!? So I can melee Decorative Weapons ??

Yah
Obviously someone misses the entire point of trying to accomplish something. Did anyone ever mention you're a total jackass?
NOTE:
Anyone that disagrees with Marcatil is automatically a jackass in his eyes.
No not really, a lot of people disagree with me, I could honestly care less. I just think that if you seriously can't be sincere enough for an accomplishment like that, you're a jackass. If someone who got a Dalmatica doesn't seem to fit the job they're wearing it on, people throw a hissy fit and don't see the simple point: You got a Dalmatica, something that isn't easily achieved.
Edit: More or less he also has a Dynamis Dagger (stage 3), and really that Dagger in its final form has a small flaw of the added effect poison. In cases where sleep is very needed/useful (ie. Dynamis), it would render that dagger a dangerous possibility in the event you actually had to sleep the mob people were meleeing due to one reason or another (ie. someone mistargeted a mob, it happens, people are human and make mistakes, you're allowed to).
According to his claims the dagger itself would only be useful if he has a 75THF (I won't make the same mistake twice about the job thing). If he doesn't, but has a 75RDM and/or BRD, his statements would be hypocritical.
Looking at another point the Excalibur is another "useless" weapon. It's RDM and PLD specifically, if anything PLDs in most end-game use Earth/Terra Staves, and if they melee it would be a Durandal for the +VIT, this is just coming from what I have seen, as I do not play PLD nor make any claims that I know how to play PLD. RDM, as we all know, blows ass at melee as a whole.
My Hornetneedle is just a trophy prize, honestly it's not that grand, but it's the matter of achievement in how I got it, and that a good friend (who no longer plays) assisted me in acquiring it.
Does it seriously matter that much to you if someone else accomplished something kinda frickin cool even if it's a 5th Stage Relic weapon that doesn't belong to a DD?
Durandal Sucks ;o
Joyeuse ftw(Hate keeping)! or Ridill? o.o' anywho. As you say RDM sucks at melee but the point is not to become an uber DD that now melees in PTs! but the fact you have it, and that makes you feel grand. Because you are one step further than most and for farming im sure any relic ws, of any job, is quite nice . So be it SMN, BRD or w/e job that has a final relic, they did it because they enjoy having it. It's not a waste of currency if he enjoys having it.

Glad someone sees my point [to a degree] XDOriginally Posted by I_am_new
I more or less said Durandal to keep it down to practical purposes, some people only do Dynamis, not Sky/HNMLS for one reason or another. Anyway, I see the point about that XD
yeah yeah leave the swords in end-game to paladins kk. Now back tot he point, I sure as hell would like to do 3k dmg gate of tartarus (assuming it has those hidden effects with more dmg or w/e) to a goobue instead of taking 5 minutes hitting it with my wyvern perch lol
