Relic staff, it's cool but WHY?!

Looking at another point the Excalibur is another "useless" weapon. It's RDM and PLD specifically, if anything PLDs in most end-game use Earth/Terra Staves, and if they melee it would be a Durandal for the +VIT, this is just coming from what I have seen, as I do not play PLD nor make any claims that I know how to play PLD. RDM, as we all know, blows ass at melee as a whole.

My Hornetneedle is just a trophy prize, honestly it's not that grand, but it's the matter of achievement in how I got it, and that a good friend (who no longer plays) assisted me in acquiring it.

Does it seriously matter that much to you if someone else accomplished something kinda frickin cool even if it's a 5th Stage Relic weapon that doesn't belong to a DD?

Actually, you'd be curious about this statement. Paladins everywhere use the earth or terra staff because there simply is no other way to reduce damage for them. It's not about best choice, rather, then about no choice. Not even a durandal + koenig shield can reduce damage on a Dynamis vanguard or an Aura Statue as the staff can. Albeit, tanking with durandal and koenig shield is more efficient with really really good shield skill. The point I'm trying to say is that with the coming of the new Aegis shield, where physical and magic damage is reduced by 25%, the combination sword and shield (Excalibur and Aegis) makes sword and shield tanking on HNMs very feasible (at least to me).

And in some situations I prefer the durandal over the Joyeuse, like if I subbed warrior tanking things. Joyeuse sometimes gives more TP then I want it to, or kiting the Uggalepith Pendant NM that Enmity+1 could mean a difference. If I was PLD/NIN getting TP in sky for god runs, and all the NINs got TP first, I can totally hold hate with a Joyeuse and Ritter Shield (because dual wield is overrated...and I got a Knight's Earring instead -_-).

An ls on my server fights tiamat with rngs. Did I mention they are the only pure NA ls across all servers that has defeated DL? In under 1 minute I might add. And if you think the drg relic weapon is more useful than ANY of the others (save staff maybe), then you have problems. I have never seen a drg do any substantian damage on any HNM.

FantasyForever and TMODynamis have both killed Dynamis Lord on Siren (I am a member of the latter), and there is not a single JP in either. I think FF has killed 3 times already and our shell beat him last week, I was leading off Chainstun and he was under 10% when my SP wore (60 seconds), that was with 49 people and like 3 osodes in the whole group.
