I kinda feel that this update means SE is listening.
6 months ago, I recall a bunch of people talking saying hairpin and boots and possibly charm should be made rare/ex
A little late, but I feel this is proof SE is listening.

If SE was listening....
1.) You would be banned.
2.) Rusty and I would be [GM]'s
3.) The FFXI servers would be moved to a reasonable location to make latency more fair for all the players. (Hmmm Africa seems like a good place, or Mexico... Dont seem like many people play from there..)
I'm sure after you craft with Archer's Ring (into Sniper) and from Leaping (into Wing Boots) then you could be able to sell them.
I'm also excited about the rematch with the Mithra Sin Hunters.![]()

3 might be possible, but it would cost a whole lot of money. Sure, we would all like it to happen, but let's be realistic, it won't.
It would also mean AT LEAST a couple weeks of downtime as they relocated the servers and databases, troubleshooted all of them, and hired a competent(yea, rightOriginally Posted by Demosthenes11

do one better than number 3.
make new servers in europe and NA and allow transfering to them once they are up.
I would be for that I suppose, although I probably would not switch
I was hoping for NA/EU/JP seprete servers, like PSO on GCN or DC when youd pick your server based on language, so we wouldnt have this cross-language barrier =/
interacting with other people is what makes this game fun.
Learning the culture of japan, England, Germany etc without actually having to go there can satisfy me til I actually go.
Now just remember this little tidbit though that was in the Playonline version update notice:
"We have also undertaken other operations not necessarily detailed in this news item"

Heres what I learned about japanese culture:Originally Posted by Demosthenes11

I don't mind interacting with other languages, it's more so the fact Auto-Translater is such a piece of s--t, it makes it almost mor inconvieniant to talk to a japanese person. It's not easy cross-language barrier, PSO took me 3 months to finish Challenge Mode for my S-Rank because every JP I went with had a hard time understanding me, like in FFXI partying isn't too easy unless your the only NA in a JP party, inviting JP is a pain because if they dont speak english it's hard to either understand their response (Unless it's an obvious No,Thanks) or if its somehting like "what should I sub?" in JP if they dont speak english it's hard =/
There's no way they'd make existing charms/rings/etc rare/ex. The rare/ex ones will be new items with identical statistics. Camping for one of these puppies vs. 250 other RNGs sure isn't going to be a lot of fun.
I totally hope the gilsellers don't read the patch notes and keep camping Argus until they get a rare/ex drop, then get pissed off.
Who cares.Blah blah Ballista blah blah
This could be good or it could be meaningless, we'll just have to wait another 12 hours to find out.-New synthesis recipes have been added.
-Several new notorious monsters have been added.
-The player’s enmity now decreases when a shadow image created by Utsusemi is absorbed by an attack.
-The damage and accuracy of a player’s ranged attack are now calculated based on the distance of the player from the monster.
Yay! Field areas! Because nobody wanted to xp in indoor/dungeon areas anyway.-The NPC may only be called in certain field areas.
So Goblins summon bee and tiger avatars? Will we be able to fight Wespe Prime and summon one ourselves?Creatures summoned by monsters (excluding elementals) have had their names changed to “(Monster’s name)’s Avatar” for consistency.
I actually still have a couple of these things >.>-The effects of the following items have been altered: Bastok Markets gate glyph, Northern San d'Oria gate glyph

damn 30% cut w. the new NPC buddy and u can still have your pet for bst. Thats another 30% cut if u dont release. lol wonder if the NPC quest even worth it for bst jobs <loL>
it is if you farm.
Assuming the NPC doesn't completely suck, it will be really nice for drg/smn/bst solo or farming. Hell in some levels on bst it actually makes no difference if you release your pet or not, you will still get a base 200 exp (47-51 gob leeches in gustav...200 exp even if you have a T charmed when it goes down).Originally Posted by Fruitloopsakaevalime
My question is how are you suppose to level up your NPC? There is no way it will be as effective as a normal party member, so you won't be able to just have a 5 person pt and bring out your NPC. I guess I will have to level up RDM a bit so I can get it to atleast level 10 :/
no more zombie-killing dynamis lord strat?A player who is KO'd, revived, then while still in a weakened state KO'd again will now, after a second reviving, temporarily experience a weakened attack and accuracy loss for magic and ranged attacks.
lets see if people bring up a new strat to kill it if it didnt affect alot
