i tried getting the gobbie helm, but for some reason, i get no cut scene when i enter the proper place. i figured maybe it has to do with fame. so i go to monastic cavern and try there. same thing. no CS. WTF is up with that. what in the world is making it not work

Did you go in the right Oldton zone? Make sure its the one with Twinkbrix at the 60 cap ENM, has to be the correct entrance from North Gustaberg. I have max fame for avatars since I'm SMN but I don't think its based on that, could be wrong.

After you get Goblin Cutting what lvl leathercraft do you need to be and what subs do you need to make the helm ?

Just curious, but are you Paw from Bahamut?

Also, to answer your question, I've heard it needs a fairly high Leathercraft skill (80+) and the subs are Smithing and Clothcraft. Dunno about the levels, sorry.
