    AF2 descriptions

    I, like probably most people, find the descriptions on AF2 quite vague. I was just wondering if people could tell me about what the effects on the AF I list actually do. (If there's somewhere that lists the actual affects, please post the link)


    PLD
    Body: Enhances "Cover"
    I've heard this causes the PLD to recover mp in some manner?

    Feet: Enhances "Sentinel"
    Head: Enhances "Rampart"
    Hands: Enhances "Shield Bash"



    RDM
    Body: Enhances "Fast Cast"
    Is this equivalent to the effect of the AF1 headpiece when used alone?

    Legs: Enhances "Spikes"



    MNK
    Body: Adds regen
    Is this 1hp/tic, 2, 3...?

    Gloves: Enhances "Chakra"
    How much does this make Chakra give back when used alone (VITx3?) and how much when used with AF1 body (VITx4?)?

    Feet: Enhances "Counterstance"

    SAM
    Gloves: Enhances "Meditate"
    How much TP gained when used alone and when combined with the AF1 piece?


    Legs: Enhances "Third Eye"
    Does this make it block multiple strikes?


    NIN
    Head: Enhances Ninjutsu damage



    SMN
    Legs: Shortens casting time for elemental avatars
    I often hear this one is debated. Does it shorten the cast time when summoning an avatar? Does it shorten cast time for summoning a spirit? Does it shorten the cast time for your spirit itself (i.e. Fast Cast effect)? Does it shorten the time between casts for the spirit?

    Legs: Enhances "Berserk" effect
    Head: Enhances "Warcry" effect
    Body: Enhances "Aggressor" effect


    WHM
    Gloves: Enhances Banish
    Body: Enhances regen


    DRG
    Body: Adds support job abilities to wyvern
    Is this just 1 random job trait taken from sub such as Auto-regen and Double Attack?

    Head: Enhances effect of wyvern's breath
    Legs: Enhances "High Jump"


    DRK
    Feet: Enhances "Last Resort"


    BST
    Gloves: Enhances "Call Beast"

    Third Eye already blocks multi-hit WSes. That much I know.

    This is self-explainatory. Enhances Ninjtusu Damage, i.e. MAtk+ for Ninjutsu. Probably 20 dmg extra.

    Not too sure, but i'm guessing Sentinel and Rampart increases the def you get, and Shield bash increases the damage and stun chance/duration

    Yes, it's basically another 5% of your casting time.

    Chakra alone is 2x VIT and removes poison and blindness, with AF1 body it's 3xVIT and removes paralyze as well.

    AF2 hands remove disease and add 3xvit (with no AF1 body), and 4x with AF1 body or close enough.

    TP gained is same when af1 helm is used (if glove used alone) and with helm you gain like 140 or 160% TP (not too sure).

    You counter instead of just evading.

    Basically you lose less def/evasion when using Berserk and Aggressor and gain more time or attack with Warcry (not to sure).

    For banish the def down when used on undead is increased and damage is increases too (I think lol)

    not sure about regen... i'd guess more time and more hp/tic.

    Melee Cyclas Adds Regen Effect is the same as WHM Auto Regen, 1 HP per tick. Its small, but its actually noticeably helpful on downtime solo combined with a counter setup cause you pretty much don't get hit. That and the +6 healingHP cut downtime while healing a lot.

    Melee Gloves Enhance Chakra Effect is similar to the Temple Cyclas effect but weaker. Base Chakra is VIT*2 cures Poison and Blind, Temple Cyclas adds 1 to the multiplier and cures Paralyze while Melee Gloves add 0.6 to it and cure Disease. So with both Chakra is VIT*3.6. The Disease cure is only Disease, not Plague (god I would love if it removed Plague).

    Melee Gaiters Enhances Counterstance Effect increases your counter rate during CS, it doesn't affect the def loss. Its EXTREMELY strong, especially combined with CCs, Avenger's Earrings and maxed merit.

    WHM regen is 1 more per tick for regen 1, 2 more per tick for regen 2, and 3 more per tick for regen 3. Banish is kind of weird - it definitely doesn't do more damage, but supposedly it makes the vulnerability last longer on undead when you use banish on them. I've done it before on Xolotl and in ranpstomb PTs, and there wasnt much of a difference.

    DRG armet enhances effect of the wyvern's breaths, so Healing Breath will cure for around the same amount as a Cure IV, but HB will only kick in at 33% hp.

    Allows you to mug 2 gil instead of 10 gil off standard mobs.

    Body: Enhanced Crit Hits
    I havent noticed anything with this one


    Legs: Enhanced Gilfinder
    I dont have these, so I have no experience with them





    Does anyone know about the body / legs ?

    The RDM AF2 body bestows another tier of Fast Cast.

    RDM AF2 Body + RDM AF(1) Hat = Fast Cast V
    Just the RDM AF2 body or the AF1 series Hat will give you Fast Cast IV.

    Or so it goes anyway >.>

    never noticed anything with the body

    legs I seem to steal less sometimes lol

    hands... yeah these dont seem to do shit at all.

    Somebody in the DRG forums on allakhazam did some fairly extensive research on this already. (Normally I'd never read DRG forums, but I was aiming for Black Mage and missed... honest ><)

    I just spent five minutes trying to find the thread again so I could link it, but I didn't have any luck. The Allakhazam DRG forums give me the heebie-jeebies, so I try not to stay there too long.

    If I remember the thread correctly, it gives your wyvern one random job trait from your subjob, chosen at the time you summon your wyvern, that persists until the wyvern is dismissed (even if you remove the armor). You can keep resummoning it until you get the JA you want.

    Enhance warcry gives you more +attack, it does nothing for time (with mask i get an addition 36 attack/person

    i use the AF2 head piece for ninja all the time. there is next to no noticeable increase in my dmg. i think this is mainly due to the fact that i'm elvaan and have low INT. i'm almost always being resisted. but when i am lucky enough to go unresisted. i'd say that is like 1/15 casts i will do an 80+ dmg doton:ni to fafnir for example. i think this piece is best utilized by tarutaru. bottom line is if ur elvaan it's not really gonna help u. i mainly use it for parrying.

    sam legs only counter if your not doing any actions, and you have to have them on, not just macro'd to third eye.

    Basically, so long as your standing there waiting for your next katana swing and your not like, meditating or something, they work fine.
