I've tried to self-chain a lot of times, and each time I failed because my TP would be at like 99% and my last second would run out before doing the second WS. With jump, one's more then likely to achieve 100%+ for self-chains.Originally Posted by Elcura

Just how do you manage to get 100tp after WS so fast that you miss out self chaining by a few secs?
Jump is the equivilent to 1 hit, same with High Jump, you still need around 8 more hits to get 100% (2 handed weapon, like 16 more for 1 handed).
Oh I was refering to self-chaining with meditate only. That's really hard to do, but DRG sub kinda takes it out.
I've only gotten SAM to 37, but I've tried to self-Distortion a lot. Typically, when I have 100% TP for the first weapon skill I wait till my GKT is almost ready to swing, then I Meditate -> Enpi. My TP is at like 12% and builds up another 80% (already lost 20% before Enpi). In this situation, I need to wait for another GKT swing and assuming it lands, I need to hit Enpi really fast or I run out of time to self-Distort. Sometimes either of the two swings I rely on will fail.
My guess is with DRG sub, Jump's TP build will reduce the time you wait to get 100% TP. That was what I meant; sorry to confuse.
EDIT: I've tried Meditating after the first WS, but with the delay of using any job ability after a WS, I don't think it's possible...

There's a vid of a SAM doing self-chains in Rolan, posted on KI somewhere. SAM/RNG, mainly just messing around pre-Kasha. This was also pre-RNG patch aswell, and he did not have Impulse. In the vid, he basically just makes a few Lv1 (Compression and Induration), a some Lv2 (Gravitayion, Fusion), and his final try, he made Dark with Polearm and GKatana. He does use 2hr for self-Dark, and he did change his Pentathrust animation to that of Impulse Drive (the chat log still says Penta, so I know that is what us used.), but pre-Kasha, thats pretty cool that he was able to pull it off.

I once partied with a sam who wanted to self-sc during a exp party... In the end he never got it right and he never had TP for skillchains because of that /sigh
As for myself well I never got to lvl sam so I can't talk... but it doesn't seem too hard >.> I always liked the idea of: 100tpmed -> ws -> ws -> wing -> ws -> 2h -> ws -> ws -> ws though but I wouldn't know which ws to do and I'd end up wasting it ._.

Soboro Sukehiro is incredible. We did a run to get three the other day, one being for a close friend of mine I party with a lot. Unless he gets unlucky with the additional hits not going off he can pull of self level 3 renkeis every three minutes using just meditate.
