Straight Tanking Kirin

watch sexiaxLS kill Kirin, they always straight tank it i watched them do 6 kirins and not one fight lasted longer than 20 minutes.

we tried this on our last two kirin's it went pretty well except for a carby astral flow that hit extremely hard. I believe we plan on doing this again the next time. It cut down the kill time by at least a third.

So basically we have a few key concepts.

1.) Nin or war/nin main tank, several backups building hate.
2.) Lots of people in AOE range
3.) Plenty of attentive healers
4.) Melee rape.

We usually have tons of people show up for kirin, so this should be workable. Just curious as to whether melee should be kept on kirin at all times to build tp etc, or if melee parties should be switched in/out of main alliance.

Could be done a couple of different ways I suppose

our last kirin run we straight up tanked him with 2 ninjas.
All melees were doing their business from front/rear and SATA or w/e they do depending on job/sj. We did this for about 20 minutes 3 kirin's in a row. That's about all it took to kill, with spare ninja's if one goes down we just swapped a new one in and all melee's started SATA on him until he could get hate then back to front/rear for melee. If your shell has done Tiamat/Jorm/Vrtra then tanking Kirin is pretty straight forward. Stun the -ga if it lands, healing ruby II, nothing to sweat.

Nice, actually sounds more like an all melee Hakutaku fight than anything to me (Haven't fought 3 wyrms).

I'd Imagine - if not I'm sure you could kite him till they were all dead and then begin fighting kirin.

Last i fought Kirin i went to the store did some stuff watched t.v came back and nobody even noticed

With Nin though i cant even take a piss >.>
