    and let the dissection begin.

"i donut think that example has anything moderatly resembling blasphemy (sp? lozl) in it"

1: im a pre-med sophmore in college and am completely aware of the religious conotations that the word blasphemy carries. i am completely aware that it refers to outrageous accusations concerning religion. i was simply using it as a word to mean outrageous.
2: please dont correct my usage of a word when u have to question the very spelling of it after your critisism.

"hey gusy lewk out phat winds commin' this way lozl"

i love your impersonation of blacks in america and how poorly they spell and what not. the funniest thing about this is that anyone with less than a high school level education can clearly see that by your NUMEROUS spelling errors in your post that you yourself are no better than the people you are mocking. (there might be spelling mistakes in this but its a typo cause ive got class in 10 minutes, he clearly needs to take a few more english classes.)

    "kilt"

    lol thats just funny.

"I'm sure if when this warning was issued and someone called the bus station and said "hey look assholes i have no money please let me take the bus" that it would have been done, greyhound would never set themselves up for so huge a lawsuit as one that the child of some 75 year old woman who wound up dead after being refused service."

you live in a fantasy world. how many people do you think lived in the affected areas? how many greyhound buses do you think are in that area? at 30 dollars a ticket, how many mothers of five living below the poverty line would be able to afford such an expense for themselves and their families?

also, there would be no huge lawsuit because even if greyhound in the affected areas wanted to they could not accomodate the masses. and you mention asking people for rides. yeah, im sure if you were driving out of your town with everything you could carry because soon there would be nothing you would jump at the oppurtunity to throw out your belongings to let in wet and dirty empovershed and homeless people in. im sure some people would but based on you outlook on the world i dont think you would be one of those people.

To someone with a bleeding heart, this sounds like a wonderful arguement.

im realistic. its easy for those of us (all of us if we are on these forums) to take for granted simple things like being able to evacuate ourselves and our loved ones if we needed to.

It wasn't an attack upon you, you know what you're talking about i just wanted everyone who reads this to understand that blasphemy (sp lozl) is not in any way synonymous with outrageous.

I donut understand why everyone trys to pick fights with me gawd gusy i donut want to get bant lol!

Regarding your assumption that a single mother of four would not be able to afford a total of $150 dollars if she honestly believed that a HURRICANE WAS GOING TO LAND ON HER HOUSE. If people had wholeheartedly believed that this hurricane was going to be so destructive that they would have gotten the fuck out. Sold the couch, sold the TV, sold the Clothes.

Regarding getting a ride, i see no reason to take everything you own with you. If it was a false alarm you'd simply go back to your house and thank the driver with a high five or some gas money. If a huge hurricane came and smashed your house then you will recieve federal lewtz.

Regarding my supposed racism, I'm not completely sure of how it is you percieved that a black person would be the one making the radio announcement of "HAY GUSY LEWK OUT PHAT WINDZ COMING LOZL". Most TV newsmen i see on TV are white, odd how that works huh lozl.

Regarding a lawsuit if someone attempted to get a ride on a greyhound bus that had no money, if there was room (how much advanced hurricane warning was there, 3 weeks, a month? I know that greyhound was not booked even 1 week in advance) there would most certainly be a lawsuit.

If i was told a hurricane were to hit fresno, california i would most certainly leave everything i owned at my house and gtfo, i can't see why anyone would not.

I never knew empoverished people held belongings in such high esteem.

an accurate assessment of the possible severity of the hurricane was available no longer than a week of its actual hit. shortly before it hit the hurricane was even categorized down from a 5 to a 3, and a 3 doesnt require the full evacuation of a metropolis like new orleans. i live in MA, and unlike california, we get hurricanes from time to time (you get el nino once every 8 years, donno if u have experienced it personally.) in 1992 hurricane Bob hit and was a category 3 hurricane. the winds were nuts and everything but a bunch of knocked down trees, heavy rain, and power outages were the worst effects. if the people of new orleans knew weeks that it was going to be a GAURANTEED category 5 hurricane there wouldnt have been as bad an effect. another problem lies in the ignorance of such catastrophies that accompanies lack of education. many of the effect people were not highly educated and the education they did recieve was most likely from a poor school system. "category 5 hurricane" to a college student means more than to a uneducated person.

150$ may not seem like a lot, and in reality its not, but to a lot of people its not that easy to come by, but in accordance with whats said above, these people most likely didnt understand the severity of what was coming. and, the previously stated fact, im sure many of them had no where to go.

"Regarding getting a ride, i see no reason to take everything you own with you. If it was a false alarm you'd simply go back to your house and thank the driver with a high five or some gas money. If a huge hurricane came and smashed your house then you will recieve federal lewtz."

if the entire metropolis of new orleans was ordered to evacuate its pretty safe to assume this wont be a false alarm, and yes, if there was a very good chance your home and everything it was going to be gone tommorow morning you deifnately would be grabbing your valuables and filling up that car. yeah, these people may get federal aid at some point, but think how hard its going to be to accurately assess the losses of each individual. when all is said and done you arent getting back everything you once had AND its going to take a long ass time to get to that point. the only way you would get full reperations on your property would be if u had full coverage on home insurance and im sure the majority of those affected did not have such coverage.

i read this as you saying a black guy was saying this regarding what he saw on the news. if im wrong, my bad.

"Regarding a lawsuit if someone attempted to get a ride on a greyhound bus that had no money, if there was room (how much advanced hurricane warning was there, 3 weeks, a month? I know that greyhound was not booked even 1 week in advance) there would most certainly be a lawsuit."

lol booking? in an event like this there is no such thing as booking. there was no way to see the extent of the damage that was done and once it was there wouldnt be enough room to evacuate everyone anyways. the evacuation was not ordered until a week before the hurricane hit, thus before that the notion to leave wasnt prevalent.

" If i was told a hurricane were to hit fresno, california i would most certainly leave everything i owned at my house and gtfo, i can't see why anyone would not."

its not like these people were told five minutes before. they were told with enough time in advance that if they were going to leave they could load everything up and go.

"If i was told a hurricane were to hit fresno, california i would most certainly leave everything i owned at my house and gtfo, i can't see why anyone would not."

considering they are empovershed, wouldnt they possessions mean MORE to them because they have far fewer than, say, a middle to upper class citizen?
