a few things I don't understand about the movie:

1. The water rising in the church while Cloud and Kadaj were fighting. Is it Aeris helping him? That's all I can come up with.

2. Why is Kadaj all freaking out when he gets to the church and looks inside the box, but is suddenly all happy and laughing when cloud shows up... bipolar maybe?

3. What is with that wolf? Anyone notice it disappear in front of the giant shell while it was looking into the water? Wtf is it?

4. When Reno smashes Rude's sun glasses, how come Rude has a brand new pair in the very next scene?

5. At the beginning it says that Soldier took Jenova and buried her long ago... that's not true... Jenova is 2000 years old, the ancients fought it and sealed it away and Shinra excavated it. WTF?

6. Also the planet using lifestream as a weapon sounds stupid to me, it was more of a protection, the planet's weapons were... the weapons themselves.

that could have been poor translation in the subtitles, or is that how it's explained in japanese as well?

1 - yeah aeris was helping out is all i got

2 - i think its because jenova was killed and he realized it, but hes so insane he started laughing maniacally about it.

3 - wolf was the symbol for cloud's secludedness, ya know, like a "lone wolf." notice how at the end of the movie when he realizes there are things to live or and he is satisfied the wolf walks up to him and disappears, showing that he no longer feels alone and guilty for aeris having died.

4 - he has spares in his coat.

5 - did the ancients fight jenova? seeing this movie made me confused about this area. kadal goes on and on about jenova coming from another planet, but everytime he talked about it they showed meteor...but when meteor came in ffvii jenova had been around for a long long time...i was always under the impression that jenova herself was an ancient and was found in like an iceberg or something. i thought they mentioned something about this.

6 - hehe well i think the way it worked was that holy kinda held meteor in place while the lifestream actually destroyed it. at least that seems logical to me considering they refered to it as a "weapon." or maybe the powers of holy and the lifestream combined both destroyed it, kinda like captain planet.

Jenova was an alien being that came to the "earth" to rule and or destroy it but the ancient fought back and kinda sorta lost - thus had to flee/hide/get the hell away. Later on (ages after) Jenova was found by scientists and they mistook it for an ancient then did all those crazy tests to clone it and such in order to revive the ancients (which created Sephiroth along with all those num..bers.. in ff7) but since Jenova wasnt an ancient in the first place.. Well tough luck. The rest is self explanatory, Sephiroth realize what he is and what was Jenova's will then tries to take over what his mother started.

In the game they say Jenova was a "calamity from the skies" like she came from space, they also go on to say that shinra extracted Jenova from the 2000 year old geological stratum or whatever, and that Jenova was sealed there by the ancients, also that they originally believe that Jenova was an ancient but found out that it was not or something, which is why they used it for experiments in Soldier and creating Sephiroth etc... I guess Jenova came from the skies (from space) to take over the planet or something, I vaguely remember something about Jenova tricking the ancients and being a part of them and then using them or something, I'm about to load FF7 into my PS2 to find out.

The Cetra were attacked by the virus and went mad... transforming into monsters. Then just as he had at the knowlespole... he approached other Cetra clans....... infecting them with... the virus...

The on the professor mistook for a Cetra... was named Jenova. That is the "crisis from the sky". The planet know it had to destroy the "crisis from the sky". You see, as long as Jenova exists, the planet will never be able to fully heal itself.

Ghast: Back then, Weapon was a weapon the planet produced of its own will?

Ifalna:

Yes, but... there is no record of weapon ever being used. A small number of the surviving Cetra defeated Jenova, and confined it. The planet produced weapon, but it was no longer necessary to use it. ...... Even though Jenova is confined it could come back to life at some time... The planet has not fully healed itself yet. It is still watching Jenova.

Anything "supernatural" like the water helping Cloud, ect, I just took for Aeris, cause it seemed like she was "one" with the lifestream.

The planet using the lifestream to attack isn't bad translation, I think. Just like your body fights off infection, the lifestream "attacked" the Jenova that was infecting it. They even referenced to it in the movie.

Also, when you look at it in the way that "Spirits Within" tried to explain conflicting lifestreams, it makes sense. But unlike the world in "Spirits Within," instead of getting dominated by the spirit of Jenova (aka the meteorite they keep showing), Cloud's world fought back and destroyed it, but obviously not completely.

And I thought the wolf was Zack. I forgot whether it was FF7 or Ereghiz?, but I thought they made reference to him being a wolf.

so this kind of explains Geostigma, those with Jenova cells contracted the "virus" I guess, but I don't understand how the children got it, I first thought they received it from the lifestream when being born, but the movie is only 2 years after the game so that can't be it... I dunno, but all that in the post I just made makes the crap they said about Jenova and Soldier incorrect.

question: I have DL'd 3 sets of sub titles, tried on 3 computers, have used 3 dif programs to watch the vid, and everywhere the subs are in Japanese. anyone have any idea what's goin on??! or a place that you DLd your subs from? torrentreactor.com and torrentspy.com don't work. any other ideas?
