I don't remember exactly how many Kirins we did and how many Osodes or Shining Cloths dropped and/or who got them (Sasha could probably tell you, he keeps track of all that stuff), but our first Kirin was only 3 months ago. How is it "an unachievable standard" if the rule has only really been enforced for 3 months? And that's assuming that the person who had our very first Osode would try to leave. People have had them for a month or less. Is a month long enough to "earn" it?

What would BG do? What are your standards for people keeping items, or do you just not let them keep them period?

Yeah, I have. But that doesn't answer my question. If you gave them to the person in the first place they they obviously earned it right? Or did you give it to them assuming that they'd continue to stay with the LS? Or was it never really theirs in the first place?

I'm just trying to clarify things, since Bert and Sendoh are acting like they are the judges of how a different LSs item system can work.

there is no specific policy. we ask people for them back. sometimes they give them back, like Arno, Imperatrix, Lujan, etc. it's a general expectation that if people won't be using their gear anymore they'll return it.

sometimes they dont, like Sephirothid, Fudeni, and now probably Namie. if they don't return we take it in stride. ouch.

if they can't return (lujan ridill, ebody, mitzki ebody, etc) then we still take it in stride although it hurts much worse.

Well, in keeping with what you've been saying to Tony, what right do you have to ask for items back if you have no policy? What sets the standards for which items you ask to be returned? If someone has had an item for a month or two, would you ask for it back? (this isn't an example of any ex-Kazoku members, just a general question) Is reactivating an account an example of taking it in stride?

My point is that just because you have a standard of "earning" something, does not mean that it is someone elses. Just because you think Tony's policy is invalid because you don't like it doesn't make it okay for people to abuse it.

I will elaborate, however, that I think certain people in the LS have earned items they have (not naming names), but since I'm not the leader and I didn't write the policy it's not up to me.

you earned the items and you want to leave BG but not the game - keep what you earned. i dont think this has ever happened.

you didnt earn the items and you want to leave BG but not the game - you should give it back. the people in this case usually have some sort of illwill toward us, so they usually dont give stuff back.

you either earned or didnt earn the items and you're quitting the game - nearly everyone except owned (who didnt earn) who falls into this category has given their stuff, and sometimes even their characters, to the LS

you're kicked - up to you. we've had people who have been kicked who have returned stuff. most of them dont though.

The general idea is that that policy serves only to force people to stay in the linkshell in attempts to earn their gear, with no time set on it. Its a perm. nazi tactic to mislead people that sometime they'll own their gear, but if they should try and quit, they suddenly didn't earn it anymore.

You're missing the point if you try and knock how BG handles loot, the policy in question is not for our LS.

anyone can ask for something back. if people want to refuse, it's their choice. we do not reserve the right to talk shit and make a big deal if someone refuses to give their stuff back. every single member who has ever been in bg who has been a good enough member to earn their gear - from start to finish - has never quit the LS, but quit the game. or been kicked which is a different case, see my list above.

we don't have any cases like your 3, so it's hard to compare.

This Topic has done nothing but hurt alot of people. I hope the next time something like this hapends we learn from this and just stop it before it gets their.

Tony and Bert are both good guys, but i was upset that everybody jumped down at tony for his post. The post was wrong but he knew that and didn't need 24 ppl telling him how great bert is and how "bad" and "worthless" he is. I have said things i didn't mean before and we all have so don't act like his the devil for a mistake in a heated argument. We have all said something we didn't mean at the wrong time and im sure we all don't like to be judged at our worst moments.

Both Tony and Bert went wrong somewhere in this topic imo but their still good people and probally always will be. People just forget when 2 people dissagre it doesn't mean one of them has to be the bad guy.

I'm not missing the point at all, just trying to point out that the policies are similar, even though you don't explicitly write yours down. You don't have a set time limit on whether or not people have earned their gear, and neither do we. Nobody said that, in Kazoku, there's no way you can earn your gear no strings attached, just that it's possible that it hasn't happened yet. And I don't understand how we're using a "nazi tactic" to mislead people just because we have ours written down and you don't.
