wait! I have an idéa! :O
why not pay a smaller fee, say 50k to BG?
then say what item you are after, and when BG is killing the mob it drops from, without any member wanting to lot for that item, the person come to the event and /sit to observe and hope for their item to drop. then if it drops, you recieve the item, it's not lost forever, and BG made 50k. not alot, but in time, if more than one person does this.. well, it's better than thrashing the items ya?

1. pay fee.
2. tell BG what item you need
3. get signed up on a list.
4. get called to the battlefield.
5. get item.
6. get removed from the wait-list.


I only see this working for Rare/EX items tho... like Abjurations or so.

The whole idea was not paying at all because they get trashed anyway. The minute you start charging a fee, the potential for the fee to grow astronomically and thus destroying the idea itself becomes imminent...

When bert says "trashed" he usually means it went to somebody who couldn't use it yet or didn't really need it. It doesn't always mean we're maxed out on it (because of 2nd, 3rd and 4th jobs I can't really think of anything we're maxed on ). I reality unless people dropped the stuff they got that was "trashed" the majority of it was probably put to use in some way or another after they had leveled their other jobs.

Well, there is no way I could afford the almost assured 5+ million gil loss per synth from trying to HQ Hauberk. At the time I uncursed the other pieces I wasn't (and I still am not ; ; ) high enough smithing to try and HQ them.
