if you attack gilsellers but don't attack gilbuyers with the same tenacity, you're a hyprocrite and a dumbass.

it works both ways....
no supply = retardedly high demand = less people buying due to the high prices.
gilbuying wasn't this rampant when it was like 100$ USD for 50k gil.
it does work both ways.
but if you are going to go vigilante and punish every single gilseller, even someone who has never done anything to you, someone who does nothing but try to HQ Shihei, on the grounds that his existence is detrimental to the game, than you should do the same to everyone who's actions are detrimental to the game.
this one guy has done a lot less harm than the gil buyers that are running around.
however, the gilbuyers buy gil with the intent to enjoy the game.
The gilsellers sell gil because they dont give a fuck about the game.
Unless of course my argument is completely moot because by Elcura and Marcatil's logic, I have no basis to speak on this topic because I dont buy/sell gil.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. People used to shoot buffalo for fun; the species was nearly wiped out of existence because of it. Actions have consequences, even if the intent was to have fun the people who buy gil caused the gilsellers to become employed in this game, their continued presence is because people keep buying gil.Originally Posted by NynJa

In short, this can be all summed up with:
Stop buying gil, you RMTing assholes.
My theory isn't the gilbuyers and gilsellers... The Japanese have leveled their crafts for a long time and now that a lot have 2-3 mules with 100's and such, they pump up the price... Look at the pricing of everything.. Gilsellers aren't selling the Vermillion Cloaks, Haubergons, Hauberks, Rings... Everything that is extremely HIGH in price is fucking CRAFTED.
Sure, Amemet skin and one or two other NM drops might be a bit pricey now. (Roc, Serket, Simurgh namely) BUT they're not that high in reality. These aren't crafted items.
Seriously.. Look back on the AH. The crafted items are insane pricing. It's not just gilbuyers and sellers... It's the greedy Japanese too.
Vermy Cloaks go up because Dama Cloth's go up...
Haub's go up because Damas Ingots go up...
Do you expect a crafter to sell a haub at a loss because the price of damas ingot went up ?
Why turn it into a racist comment? All crafters arent Jpn any crafter can be greedy, you shouldnt label people.
Okan, in every group of people, there are the good and there are the Bad. I've personally never have to deal with any Japanese Jerk, actually to me, they are very nice people, i befriend a JP Taru Ninja named Tohu, and he helped me with Genkai 1, Davoi Coffer for AF, and a few other things that i don't remember.
And though someone already mention, what do you make crafted item out of? Do crafter craft Item out of thin air? what is that craft called?i wanna level it! Of course such craft doesn't exist, you craft item from droped item, damn, someone tell me how learthercrafter sell Amemet Mantle for 5k

There are always extremes, Suph. The super nice JP or the ultra racist JP who will ignore all your tells and pretend to be AFK even if you see him running around and shouting in Jeuno for a teleport... But you didn't answer in Japanese, so he doesn't care.
However, Japanese people are human too. Humans by nature are greedy. Not very many gilsellers are farming silk threads, farming leather crafting materials. Gilsellers are hitting things that actually make a larger profit. I didn't say that gilsellers are innocent. I just said I don't think they're the true cause behind it. Obviously people buying the gil affect it, but the people selling the items are increasing costs too. The people selling them, atleast on Unicorn, are usually JP in an LS called Bonkurarz. The greediest of the bunch. One guy has 5 or 6 mules with 100 crafts... He refuses to do ANY job for ANY person that is NOT JP because he doesn't want to HQ for them. Sha'ir, Noble, SH, Haubs of both kinds... Name it.
When I say these guys are greedy, I'm talking they've camped Fafnir and Nidhogg primarily for about 1 year before another LS showed up to challenge them... That LS was Checkmate. Granted they won most pulls, but we got a few. I asked them why they still camp it when they where dropping the abjurations.. The answer was "We just want ridill."
Checkmate ended up dying because it was always disappointing seeing an LS with all PLDs having M. Body. All mages (WHM, BLM, RDM, BRD, and SMNs) with Dalmaticas, all melee that can wear with Adaman Hauberk. Even some of their WAR's with level 1 or locked PLD had Koenig body...
We had one pair of M. legs from all ground HNM LS (we had really bad drops too.) Out of 10 Fafnirs, we only managed like 5 a hands and 5 a feet.. That's about it.
Hi Ele, <3 you ^^ ill see you in game... but u wont know who i am so ill just slap yo ass ;POriginally Posted by Elemmire

Just because a group of gilsellers was banned on your server, does NOT mean the influx of Gil (as a whole) on IGE for Bahamut is destroyed.
so, its actually not the gilseller thats ruin the economy, its actually the gil BUYER
so why do you only attack the gil seller? cos the gil buyer is one of your while the gil seller is chinese?
gilbuyers buy to enjoy the game
gilsellers sell because they dont give a fuck to the game
both parties are necessary to each other's success, however its easier to get rid of a gilseller.
gilbuyers will call GM's on you, gilsellers will swear at you in chinese.
And, i didn't say that the price goes up because the gil at IGE on Bahamut is all destroyed
I say, When one group of them was banned, and everything else seem to be exactly the same, ceteris paribus. In a labartory experiment, we change one thing at a time and we see it effect on the outcome, so in this "experiment", one group of Gilseller was take out of the economy and the result is the rise in price of the item they were supplying to the AH.
Now tell me, where is my logic flawed
Nynja, tell me, how do you know what the Gilseller and Buyer think?
Are you psychic? cos if you are not, please don't make assumption, you do not know for a fact that Gilbuyer buy gil to enjoy game. Tell me, how do you know what you know? Are you yourself a gil buyer? Because if you are not, don't assume anything
On a second note, if there is a demand, there will alway be supply. You ban all the current gil seller, if gil buyer still wanna buy gil, there will be a new group of gil seller coming into existence. However this is not true for supply, if there is supply but no demand, then the supplier will go away. If IGE's gil don't sell, then they stop buying gil from gilseller. No one would do a business if there isn't any profit.
that has got to be the stupidest thing I've read in the past while. Ok, so if gilbuyers dont buy gil to enjoy the game, why do they buy gil ??
Gil is cheap, I mean, dirt fucking cheap, because no one did shit about the gilsellers. As I said, and you ignored, gilbuying wasnt this rampant when it was 100$ USD for 50k gil. Only people with daddies credit card would accord that. Gilsellers stepped up their tactics, and yet the players did nothing. They found means to more gil to sell, and thus price went down.
Chipping away at the gilbuyers and making IGE's gil-stash larger wont drive off gilbuyers. It'll actually make IGE's gil CHEAPER to buy, so instead of the "Final Fantasy XI Gil is now as low as $37.99 per 2,000,000" we have now, it'll be "Final Fantasy XI Gil is now as low as $19.99 per 2,000,000". And guess what, if gil's that cheap for 2 fucking mil, I'll buy gil. 20$ USD is like 3 hours of manual labor for me, and unless I get ridiculously lucky on drops, I know there is no way in hell I can make 2 million in 3 hours of farming.
so what you're saying is that people are too chicken to take on gilbuyers.Originally Posted by NynJa
enjoying the game is not a good excuse for people to break the rules, you can say the same thing about rapist and only the most twisted would think that defense has any meaning.
