How often do these sell? Is it the supply of them that is the reason they aren't on the AH often or that people prefer to buy +1 or Cross Counters?

Normal TMH probably are low in supply, and they're only a 25% synth from a max or near-max bonecrafter.

All the CP items grew a bit rarer when the city aketons came out; people blow unused CP on those instead of getting items like TMH, merc stuff, etc.

They are from a windurst first place item, and until now windurst hadn't had first place in a really long time. they'll be more common soon.
