Hey Faranim
That's actually a rumour that I helped start. One night in dynamis, shortly after Discordian obtained Caliburn, he used KoR after getting slammed in the face repeatedly and ended up doing triple damage with the WS. Naturally we all thought "Damn it does more damage as hp goes down".KotR supposedly deals more damage when your HP is lower, the exact opposite of Spirits Within. Perhaps the lower your HP, the higher the Regen you receive? Try Converting right before using KoTR and see what happens.
This is all based on what I've read in the past, so go test it out and verify it for yourself.
Our next theory was that the more damage you take, the more damage it deals - up to an unknown cap. We shortly threw that theory out the window too.
In reality none of the two above cases are true. Disco has tried tanking a mob for 5minutes then using weaponskill for no unusual damage. Also tried converting to >10HP and using with the same effect.
I played around with etudes last night and we figured out that there doesn't even seem to be a damage modifier other than str and attack. One Knight's of Round with double chr did triple damage but that was just from the sword's hidden effect as we learned from further testing.
Knight's of Round is a fairly dissapointing Weapon Skill.
Low damage and accuracy. It's only saving grace is that it can continue light. These continued light chains also seem to work differently than a normal light in that magic bursts do a lot more damage.
The real power of Excalibur lies in it's additional effect and the relic hidden effects, to a lesser extent.
