Got this one tonight using the same setup as the original post, except with ugg pendant instead of divine torque and no korin obi since it was lightningsday. Still haven't gotten a chance to pick up +MND belt/cape, and I lost the lot on A.Hands from last night's kill.
Was this with the bard singing the logical/spirited etude? If not, try it out, as a whm you should do some pretty high dmg.. I dont remember the exact numbers but one of our whms asked for both etudes and hit some crazy numbers without bursting.
Whm should stick to healing.

In all the other videogames, whm was a good damage dealer with Holy, largely dealing 9999 damage in most games. It's not entirely bizarre that Atreides magicbursting is good. 1000+ damage from a whm (2 spells) is somewhat close to black mage damage, and if another whm or two had some more mp at their disposal, they could jump in too adding more damage than usual.
Could be interesting if, as discussed in the CoP thread, the only "good" way of dealing damage to Jailer of Love is to use curing / divine magic. With this +MND +divine setup, it would be easy for WHM to top 1000 damage (unresisted) with a Banish3/Holy double MB.
I'd love it like that.. PLDs provoking and WHM's Banishing III only! BLMs doing all the healing and feeling useless while we laugh and .... YES!Originally Posted by ½pint
I would like to publicly state that I never cure anybody, including myself. I think the only time I cured alot was when I was the only other mage at Fafnir for a little bit.
last thing a mage needs is extra hate placed upon them after said hate was removed from taking damage.
I cast regen on myself and I stop there >_>;Originally Posted by Not Kuno

Decided to pick up some more +MND gear (penitents rope and red cape +1 to be specific) and headed to xarcabard to try it out on undead. I opted for Ugg pendant and keeping my MP under 50% instead of divine torque since the skeletons/ghosts there con TW at 75 anyway. Here's the results:
Setup was the same as listed in my original post, with ugg pendant instead of divine torque and penitents rope/red cape +1, giving me a total for 74+59 mnd with witchkabobs.
First three spells, half resist on Banishga II.

Next set of spells, I realized after casting Banish III (but before Holy and Banishga II) that it was Lightsday, and I should use Korin Obi to keep my results consistant. Holy was half resisted.

Some more unresisted damage with that setup:

At this point I realized that since Burn would help increase BLM spell damage by lowering enemy INT, Shock should logically increase banish damage. Turns out I was right:

Note: the last 2 tests were performed on Lost Souls in Behemoth's Dominion, not Xarcabard. I assume those are slightly lower level.
With Zenith Mitts and the increase in dmg from magic bursting I'm nearly positive at this point that it's possible to break 1000 dmg on a Banish III burst.
