except i beat maat barebones at 66, and had no plan or stratedgy going into it except to tank him like you would tank anything and keep my HP above yellow to survive Mijin Gakure, which in the end only did 250 dmg.

so...not a great idea for ninja maat if you wannt give us free exp or not.

Well, 70cap @ Maat vs. 75cap @ Maat for RDM actually has a big difference in scale. Since some of the better gears are above the lv70 restriction which you're usually pegged at for the very first time you fight him. Probably could fight Maat again as a lv75 RDM and the fight would be much easier, then again, who knows >.>

go to castle Oz, and you'll be throwing away BRD/NIN/MNK testimones like they are toilet paper. I farmed my Test at 66, beat maat at 66, i'm 100% sure that at 75 either maat, or farming test, would be a joke for a ninja.

and yes, its free, aside from the cost in my time to get there, walk up to the stupid yagudo, cast U: Ni 1 time and kill the yag and to warp back to jeuno.

I was playing in Sea Grotto and had MNK/BRD/DRG/WHM test drop back to back to back to back, in the order I killed them. Only test that I've seen to suck, I'd say would be sam or blm.

Just did WHM right now. Only used meat mithkabob. Didn't get a single buff from the goblin. The puppet got 2 300 tp WS off (56 and 68 dmg ). Had a ton of mp at the end. I use divine seal at beginning just in case abilities get recharged.

Best part is when the puppet casts a spell. It's always weak crap like blink, stoneskin, and dia 2.

Isn't it great to have almost a year of people practicing (and losing multiple times) against Maat and posting stratigies on message boards so you knew what to do on your first try?

using a shield or not in brd maat fight is only a matter of how much def it adds, brd has no shield skills, for maat fight u won't even have a sub, not sure if sheild can even go off without sub skill, of course if u were 75 u'll be using genbu shield for dmg- and eva

cracked maat in just under 2 min for brd, didn't both anymore since its a hell long walk to fei yin

when i did it i blocked twice, this was back in the day when you would completely block hits.

Regardless of how hard RDM Maat was for you at 70, RDM Maat is very easy @ 75... if you wanted you could probably melee him to death, with a few enfeebles and sleeps that is.

I'd like to try the solo ENM 60 but i cant bring myself to miss a single Race ENM.. which im now 0/15ish for any earring drop at all...

That's what I thought til I looked at my hp and mp. Full hp, and 300 mp...as a fucking elvaan. Just be patient and don't do anything stupid, and you can win handedly. And I actually used my own strat (kind of). All the things I read before said to silence him. I didn't and he wasted his time casting pussy spells lik Stone III and such, instead of coming up to me and dominating me. Every rdm going into maat knows to sleep---> nuke without reading any strats though. That is basically the only thing guides say =P

I'm agreeing with the powerball quote. Why? I'm Elvaan too, took me three times. Sometimes you just don't get lucky and he resists all your sleeps regardless of how high one's stats are, staves, or elemental day. It's like the Diabolos fight - he's not hard; if he doesn't spam Nightmare.

So you won your first shot, woo. Point Sept was making is that your fight's strategy (as well as mine, and his, etc.) was the root of people for the first time doing it - when there was no pre-set guidance whatsoever. Sometimes jumping headfirst into something that is new isn't too easy. Also you have to be able to react on a situational basis.

im 5/6 or 4/5 on this. lost my last one bc i got cocky and tried to finish him off w/o healing. but for rng, just do it like maat fight. sleep or ic wing to 100%, ss+barr, slug>barr>slug>ees takes him under half and just finish him off from there. id bring 4-5 hi potions each time and it was plenty even when the gob would heal him 2-3 times.

I love this BC. I've been doing it since it first came out, started on whm and won every time. Don't use V cloak for this fight, -10 evasion sorta sucks. Regular AF is fight, I ate sushi and used Earthstaff. I got the feather on the 1st try. Then I started doing teh BLM fight... it took me 11 kills to get a spirit lantern Fights for both blm and whm are rather simple. I keep missing the record on teh blm fight by 2-3 seconds, starting to piss me off.

Tried this again last night. Basically the only thing the gob gave out was defense and attack bonus's ^-^

With all the bullshit that I didn't have to deal with, Took it down in 7 minutes with Hornetneedle. Energy drain is really really nice. Finally got item...first in 5 kills I'd say.
