It is weird for me personally. When I first started playing FFXI I was invited and given a world pass from all of these JP guys I used to work with at Fujitsu. They gave me millions upon millions of gil (back when 1 million was like $200 or something)

Then one day, they all quit. And I bought like a million gil, because hey I was used to having cash all of the time. After that the game felt kind of ruined and I quit. After all that time and all of that hooked up gear, I hadn't earned jack shit. Just didn't seem worth playing anymore.

I tried playing again recently, but it just isn't the same. But hell you can't beat the BG forums for a good read.

Why do people feel the need to make assumptions about people they dont know. It's really is frustrating to me, because i do my best to try and be objective and respectful to all players i come accross in this game. For people that know me IRL and in game, They know where my gil comes from, since people feel the need to accuse me of RMT apparently i need to tell this forum also ok here we go.........
I started playing this game over a year ago because a friend told me it would be a cheap way to spend my spare time. I started lvling with 2 RL friends (Rahvin, Lynndis) and we quickly fell in love with this crazy world that i still spend time in to this day. Over the course of my starting months in game i was befriended by a lvl 75 whm drk nin rdm (had more jobs 75 but i forget them all) he had 6 anyways he was a lvl 100 alchemist and had come into to say the least an extreme amount of gil. After about 6 months of friendship he decided to leave this game and gave me ALL (money and items) he had.. to put this into perspective i had to make 4 mules to hold them -.-. most of the items i would sell simply because i wasnt planning on lvling a melee job (i wish i had kept it because i would really be rich now -.-).
Now i will tell you about my personal life, which quite frankly is none of your business, but i want to make sure that these accusations wont happen to someone that is more "fragile" then i am....
My parents have both recently passed away in the last year in a car accident (honda vs. semi) {incredibly tough}. Since there death ( they had no life insurance) i have come into debt (22k REAL LIFE MONEY)
needless to say chances of me RMTing is exactly 0.
Like me, hate me, i could care less, but please think before u speak. Everyone has feeling and while some people do RMT not all people with good gear RMT. thank you for your time and/or prayers.

Well I don't know where most of the other ppl are from. Server, Linkshell ect, and didnt meant to bash BG, was just an example. Gilbuying/selling is pretty common now if you look at diffrent forums. How come ppl like Godspirit or Sparky dont get the same flame?

Everything sparky said is correct, for the record i am paying with MY credit card sparky's monthly fee for this game. Why? Because when the car accident happened with his parents this was a perfect way to get his mind off of what happened. Having good gear without apparently farming or crafting for it does not mean you are a rmter. To many uneducated jackasses run around accusing ppl of rmt when they have no fucking facts to back up their claim. Show us a credit card reciept or some physical proof before you go around and flame ppl. I swear youre a vaginal secretion who i dont know how you lived this long, making assumptions which you dont have any facts to back them up. Everyone accusing ppl of rmt need to get a god damn life and stop trying to ruin someone's reputation on unfounded assumptions.

This is how RMT ruins the game, it creates an evironment where it's perfectly ok to list something for 20-30% more than it last sold for because some RMT asshat will buy it. It's the reason why every fucking time I bid on a piece of gear I can't get it for the last sale price -.- .
