+STR doesn't really do much for DoT compared to +ATT if you already have large amounts of +STR.

According to Gradient on KI, the Brutal Earring when he tried it as mnk/thf with staff is 5% and when subbing war it was 15% (suggesting /war is 10% Dbl. Atk.)
