Yeah I saw a lvl 1 mule hit Vrtra once with his lvl 0 dagger skill. I'm no longer capping my weapon skills or using A+ weapons. Nor will I wear accuracy or attack gear... since as long as someone else can do it once in a blue moon, its useless to actually be efficient in my debuffs.

HUGE difference between sticking 1/100 debuffs and a fluke then actually being able to efficiently debuff an HNM a higher majority of the time. Ask any RDM what happens when they try and spam debuffs on Tiamat if they wont stick. Ding! Dead RDM after 45mins.
Hey, don't get me wrong, I'm not that naive, I was just giving the one example that became the final straw for me. When I was actually leveling Ninja I worshipped my Ninjutsu Torque and Hatsuburi because it was incredibly difficult to stick Hojo, Kurayami and Jubaku without them yet incredibly easy with them. However, when I hit 75 and entered the HNM world as Ninja I quickly realised my Ninjutsu landing on Gods, Kirin, Fafnir etc is either going to or not regardless of what I'm wearing. I tank Fafnir regularly with a fellow Ninja in my linkshell and I use Koga Kyahan with capped Ninjutsu merits putting me 22 skill levels above him and the difference in resist rates simply isn't there. On exp mobs my resist rate is probably around 1/100 just with the +12 from merits so that isn't an issue.

So, once again, is it worth it? No on two levels. From my own experience +37 added to my Ninjutsu skill in the end game world was a waste of money and inventory space (and, I'm sorry, but if you're an end game Ninja and aren't struggeling for inventory space you suck) for the minor placebo effect I felt it was giving. I'd much rather fill it with other tools and equipment that would make a bigger difference.

Solution: Fight VT/low IT and just chain like crazy. Thats why you get 10k/hr at 75 right? So why not do it at lower lvls too :D

I'd say, if you have the extra money sitting around, buy it... it's not going to hurt you.

If you're hurting for cash, don't buy it... it's not worth breaking your bank over.

Or, you can piss off your healers by macroing in your AF mask for your casts when you find yourself having problems landing debuffs. :D

i wish we could chain VTs but unlike 75 where everyone in the PT is the same lvl at this range i get invites with sometimes 3 lvls range, and often im not the highest, so chaining VT to me is like chaining low low VT or high T to others in the party. i hate this lvl range.

i used to make every pt i was in but since i have grown lazy so i just seek.

Or you get a party where the blm asks to sub ninja ....... then the other blm casts ga spells two diffrent times and hits all kinds of shit, oh and dont forget when the whm just decides to take a break on the healing thing and rest a whole battle ...

My main is not a spellcasting job, but I've always been under the impression that the higher your magic skill level is, the less likely you are to be interrupted while casting. Can anyone verify or disprove that?

It's true for Ninjutsu, but it's not very significant at all.

Like for VT/IT mobs you're going to get interrupted if you're hit 99/100 times regardless of skill.

For DC and EP they can usually hit in the middle of a cast and it will still go off if it's capped though.

Partially true, magic tier doesnt have anything to do with interruption rate, just skill and when you are hit imo. sometimes when your caught with your pants down (no utsu shadows up) and ni isnt ready (such as aoe ws, gob rush or aga spell), you can time ichi so the mob hits you in the beginning of the cast, therefore low chance of interrupt. there are times when a mob has double critical attacked me, and my char bends in half and ichi still goes off because its in the beginning of the casting .

often you can tell when your going to be interuptted by seeing how much your character flinches when its hit.

why does a simple question turn into an argument/debate ?

o nvm , its bg forums

In my own experience, the only skills that effect landings are wind/string instruments, enfeebling, and elemental. Healing, Summoning, Enhancing, Ninjutsu, are all just "interupt rates"..

Timing your ninjutsu is much more effective than relying on avoiding interruption. With hojo/slow on, you have a window to put up utsusemi:ichi even on double/triple attacking mobs; just start casting a fraction of a second before their first attack of the round. Even if they appear to double attack, both attacks actually occur at the same time, below the interruption threshhold. Assuming you live, your casting will finish a fraction of a second before their next round.

I messed around in Riverne:B on Hippogryphs last night for a few hours and was interrupted only twice in about 2 hours, despite frequently getting smacked around because I was lazy with shadows.

does healing skill raise cap of what a cure can do? or is that, just some magic number that you can break cap on a non-light/dark day without healing +%?

Edit: as far as the OP is concerned, sure its worth it if you can afford it, but macro it in and out.

Healing Skill does affect cure amount. It just raises it to the cap though is all it does, doesn't pass the cap.

MND, Cure Potency, and Lightsday increase it past the cap.

And what Wafik said is right, if you get hit in the first 10% of your cast it will actually never interrupt. So if you time it just before a mob swings on you, you'll get it through (Ichi btw) in almost all cases, especially if Hojo is on.

Yea Timing Ichi is something all nins know. I love when i just use ni evade everything ni again thats the best but only on a few T and most DC and below. I like soloing crabs though Hojo/Jubaku/Kuyrami(sp?) and you can sleep till it's dead lol.

I stoped casting ninutsu in partys alot cause on the IT+ mobs they could miss often i just use Kuyrami Ni and let the rdm paralyze the mob and slow it or the other nin uses hojo ni and i use kuyrami ni, im a tp whore so i hate taking time from hits lol =)
