Tanking Kirin straight up

When I was in dhalmels, we straight tanked w/NINs and PLD/NINs. The WHM and unfortunate BRD/SMN (/cough) in the tank pt spammed aerial armor while the outside WHMs cured. We'd kill it in about 40 mins or less after the gods were killed.

Yeah but double attack helps get TP alot faster, in addition to better melee hits and the random double attack spirit taker.

Plus my thf is underleveled.

My damage on /whm blows ass. I solo-melee EP and DC mobs pretty fast with fenrir. What I do is, I keep Fenrir out at all times (with kirins pole) and do Eclipse Bite, and then a berserked Sprit Taker for all my MP back. If I sub /whm or use Plutos Staff my dmg isnt high enough to do non-stop mob rape w/o resting.

as bert said since that one really good, we haven't had much luck on straight tanking, although sometimes we like ghetto straight tank and run away again when ppl start dying

great whirlwind fucking pwns. when you have 1400 hp.

I really did enjoy that time we straight tanked it. What was funny was, the same blms who always taunted melees that they were always useless at HNMs were complaining that they were kicked out of alliance for being exactly that: useless.

We pwned it in like 15mins after the god summons and felt truly haijin.

Then next pop we got pwned by ga45235XIIML and astral flow, so it wasn't quite the same lol :/

Aye, UchinoLS still straight tanks Kirin, We kill him in about 1hr, I guess it's still alot of time but we dont have many SMN and BST..(CC pwns Kirin)

We use PLD/NIN and Ninja's on him, I think we have..1 Warrior?probably not even.

your back in uchino? they have more than 1 warrior, ingram,pigoo,alex and a few others i know all had 75war when i was on bahamut and in holybrighten (which is uchino)

Persistence on Garuda kills in 20 minutes or less after summons while kiting. Straight tanking would likely only improve this by 5-10 minutes, so we haven't felt like changing. Kirin stops so often to cast anyway, he's basically standing still.
