Xavier says new because its new to BG. All the previously pimp WARs in BG never came to events and have now quit the LS/game.

So WAR/NIN is pretty new to BG.

MNK/WAR can do damage close to/equal to a WAR...but in WAR parties, after about chain 15 or so, mages run out of MP and you have to kill mageless. MNK taking massive damage... {No thanks}.

This isn't always, with a good taru mage it doesnt happen but meh ;x

I believe Worldx's war and drk /nin PT got chain 70 or something in Kuftal like 9 months ago.

It's called holding back, if the WARs are doing the same/equal damage as me it shouldn't be hard for them to get hate, also, if a MNK can swallow his pride and do slighty less damage so the WARs can keep hate through damage.

I do love WARs though, probably the best partner you can have as a MNK while leveling.

Can't say anything about the war because I don't know him, and can't say anything about your mnk because I haven't checked in a while, but without knowing any facts about the two parties, I can bring it down to this: nin sub.

Why was rng/nin so godly compared to other melee? Not just because it could do dmg, but because it could semi-tank when it took hate until the tanks got it back.

War/nin gets the benefit of dual wielding an axe and ridill, utsusemi and double attack.

I don't want to speak for all monks, but mnk/nin imo is crippling to their dmg. So without even looking at a parser, I know that a mnk who takes hate is going to get his ass handed to him/drain a lot of mp, whereas a war is free to tank.

War is more versitile (sp?). War/nin has shadows, and provoke, gets decent haste gear, and like the thread just said, our static was able to tank the suzaku (the only one we tried to day) on war/nin. Mnk/nin has no provoke, no chance of tanking actual NMs for the course of the fight.

In other words, WAR/NIN IS THE NEW ULTIMATE SUPREME FIGHTING CHAMPION OF THE UNIVERSE.

edit: I just saw that you posted the war didn't have a ridill. Ridill COMPLETES me, when you party on aura gears and the ridill procs 3 times for 100 dmg a hit, its love.

I respect anyone's opinion, and I don't talk outside my expireince. But as far as i PT'ed with warriors in the past, i'v always outdamaged them.. see the only bad thing that i see about warrior tanking, their evasion SUCK, you know it..i know it..and i know how warriors pt run with the voke between the 3 of them and what not..but if warrior had greater evasion i would appreciate them more..or SE in that kind of sense
That warrior, Cries.. he is fully equipped as in adaman haubrek, juggy, peacock, etc but no ridill, i know how much that item changes the damage of warriors..but yeah, hook me up with a bard and im set..i usually use my evasion equip at aura statue with my haste equip, its a good combo but ull be craving for sushi the whole time..
speaking of aura statues, i tanked one of them with SJ ninja with haste.. no cures, and never got touched..anyhow i'm not playing at the moment, but you're welcome to invite me and try..

1300~1500 dragon kick with SJ war rocks but doesnt happen often enough

Keep it mind a war lost about 5% (if not more) from recasting utsu to prevent mage from wasting their mp

Counter tanking is asking to die lol, and I know that mnk/nin can tank with haste but the problem is again, no provoke, so they can't tank anything that has other people going crazy on it at the same time.

i was in a pt with 2 wars and i outdamaged them both horribly. i probably slowed down the party a lot though. the one was taru with a ridill and other nice stuff, and the other was elvaan with everything but ridill. the taru actually did less with the ridill than the elvaan. the numbers were like 1200 1200 2300 on statues, me being 2300(monk)

Yea, war evasion sucks, but they *always* sub ninja in a merit PT. I'd rather have a War/nin with sucky evasion tank than a Mnk/war with awesome evasion. Also, not saying that it's not true, but I have no idea how you didn't get touched against golems considering they have so many shadow wiping AoE attacks. =O

In any case, because of the MP drain issue, I always go MNK/NIN in a merit PT seeing as how having more than a RDM + BRD backline is SO last year. >.> My gear isn't that great, but I've outdamaged the WAR's in my LS because they're gimp with no ridill's!.

So yea... Ridill War -> MNK -> Rest imo in meripo PT. =P

Edit: ahh, and I wouldn't have mnk tank anything over a war... ever... >_>

61 war/nin with some of the best gear I can get (haub, snipers, bloodsword) and I still wait for damn pt invites /cry
I still get blind pt invites as ranger though, but I am wiggly and shiny there

The best party's I got when I lvled up blm was dual war. Zerilz icespike me brd whm and a random dd. Fast easy clean exp. Now for merits its either mnk party or war party only(unless Bikkwin is there he counts as war now). We have 6 monks in the ls and 3 war so I don't settle for less

Is it really that hard to get PT invites for WAR?

I'm capping merits in STR, Crit. hit rate, and axe for my BST, so it'd make sense for my next job to be WAR.

After leveling BST, though, I don't think I have the patience to sit and seek PT.

On weekdays I usually have spend a good while seeking pt on WAR61/NIN30, and I'm not gimp. So I usually try to make pts myself, but I hate to make conventional pts and almost always wait for a brd so that still sucks

If anyone on Bahamut wanna make a WAR static around lv 60, LET'S DO ITTTT!

Oh great, Just what warriors need =/, Everyones going to play warrior, There is goign to be a mass population of crappy warriors, even crappy warriors with good equipment that just don't know how to do their job, and then whats gonna happen, GIMP just like ranger. Not that Warriors isn't gimped enough =/ I can see it happening now.
