Has anyone else stopped to realize that the servers are actually in Hawaii? And the backbone of the FFXI network is more than one big box that is either 'working' or 'not working'? Now sure, I'm as pissed as anyone else; in fact, I'm even more steamed than usual because even though I try to be accepting of the fact that stuff happens with an MMORPG and upkeep, they have had a full day of maintenances lately... and that's not so great. However, just like with the "OMGSERVERSINJAPAN" comment, this is the same deal... The servers aren't in Asia! They're in HAWAII. Not to mention, as it has already been discussed on countless boards, that particular website measures ONE router in each area. ONE single router. Hell, I could find a router in my city that isn't working; doesn't mean that internet traffic in the USA has grinded to an immediate halt.
