Everyone wants blms nerfed. My question is, how can you nerf blm...seriously, how? There's no way to nerf blm without making blm unplayable. If you lower nuke damage, you make smn a better DD mage with no hate issues, which is just totally ridiculous. If you make damage dependent on SC, you make blm the new pld, decent for HNM, but totally ineffective 72+ in xp situations. I wouldn't mind changing TP gain, if you make TP dependent on damage for all actions (including WSs).

If you can figure out a way to nerf blm without destroying the job, I'll be fine with it. But I've yet to hear anything approaching a reasonable solution to the "overpowered" blm. When's the last time you invited a blm to an xp party at 75, hmm?

Or make nukes give tp proportional to how much damage it did, so that people could stop bitching about melees giving too much tp.

Very good idea. All it should do is give TP based on the percentage of the mob's life you do in damage (i would think this would vary based on mob level.)

Or... Give 5 TP for tier 1, 10 Tier 2, etc etc... Make Tier 4's like 25TP and aga3's like 30TP.

That would work ok I suppose... Considering a manaburn does what? 5 Thundaga III's, Stun, thunder IV to finish... That's...
150%+50% from stun+125% from Thunder IV... About 2-3 abilities which would seriously impare BLM manaburns. (That's not including BRD spells.)

That would be nice, but I doubt it'll happen. SE isn't that smart, and Sendoh's idea is something I've wanted to see implemented for a long time but again, SE isn't that smart.

1/2 dmg unresisted to CoP wyrms, BLM are good for some things bad for others like every other job, no need to nerf just because they can do alot of dmg with giving very little TP on some HNMs but be comepletely shitty to play during Dynamis

Depends what your doing, other jobs are better suited for things like i said with blm (Amarok on drk/nin rips things up in dynamis/limbus almost as good as war/nin and he can stun)

SMN comepletely useless on almost everything (exp pts, dynamis, most HNMs etc) basically just good for CoP wyrms, and soloing

Having pets run after Kirin and dmg him while kiting him during the time you kill his summons (KB too?) great at making alot of gil/no lfp

Diff jobs have pros and cons to make them good in specific areas. To me your list just picked on certain areas where things where good/you thought overpowered but where they had a huge lacking in other areas.

Didn't we already have this argument? Some jobs are good at some things, some are good at another. BLM can do nice shiney damage but at stuff like dyanmis (surprzing fact: all mobs (minus pets + dl) in xarca take 1/2 spell dmg) and limbus were you fight tons of mobs, a good melee job just rapes dmg and is much more effeciant. Thats not to say you dont need BLM because theyre useful in some situations.

Ok, so there is a total of THREE things BLM isn't that great against..

SMNs do good damage against everything actually... They're good in XP PT (We'll take 70 SMNs to BLM PTs in KRT...)

I didn't really mean a buff.. I meant tweaking. While I don't want to see ten millions bards, I'd like to see them more than ballad/madrigal whores.

    DRK is situational.

Thing about BST is that they need to have 17 other 75BST friends to do thta... It's not like a normal PT where they can pick up 18 people of set jobs that most everyone has atleast one leveled.. I meant more conventional... Seriously, do you really invite BST in to XP PT? I've seen it a time or two, but usually ignored.

And yes... RNG still do great damage, but again it's player/gear dependent now.

One year from now somebody is going to start a thread titled "IS MNK THE NEW THF?" and I'm going to laugh. There will always be a flavor-of-the-month build (or a flavor-of-the-half-year build at the pace SE reacts to changes in the game).

A given job in a given scenario has its own strengths and weaknesses. Perhaps some jobs have more scenarios that favor them over other jobs, but that's no reason to start crying for SE to do something so that your favorite job can have its day in the sun next. It's all fun and games until a change finally comes and you realize there's a new uber build that 'needs' to be nerfed.

Your Definition of THF and PLD are sort of the same. Thieves can be decent tanks if you know how to use them but nobody wants anything to do with them either.

I dunno how you could say it's simply two I have a completely different view being a melee and instead of looking at individual jobs I look at classes and what purposes they have.

Melees in general need an overhaul, we suck plain and simple. In HNM situations our damage is less, we give mobs tp which in turn makes them more difficult and are often just a sideline job to the other job types out there. Not to mention how many different jobs there are and how little need there are for them. There are more melee jobs than there are mage jobs yet if possible parties will usually include more mages than melee.

PLD is a tank job and one of only two "Real" tank jobs. This in it own gives them a sense of purpose. Depending on the situation a ninja or a pld is better and in other situations a skilled player of either job can compensate and still do a good job tanking. The point is they are required and have a sense of purpose.

Mage jobs are required too, they have a purpose being healing, buffing, damage dealing. They are the cream of the crop and often first choice in a quick and painless HNM experience. They are however nothing without tanks to keep them alive most of the time.

So that leaves melees, you could remove all the melees from the game and HNM battles would still be easy and defeatable. So while there are balance issues within the ranks of melees alone, melees as a class also need an overhaul and this is why I see pld's to be lower priority. This extends beyond HNM parties but to XP and BCNM and ENM and Missions etc. Mages are universal and melee are situational and still even in the best situations on the backburner to a mage.

So well I don't disagree with your assessment of the jobs Okan I certainly think PLD still has it better off than most jobs.

Instead of nerfing blms, why not just add a TP song or plauge spell? Omg critical thinking ftw.

try to xp at endgame as a pld then say that

yeah, for hnm's gods w/e big things like that we are in high demand, but what happens when we die 15 times "sorry no tank needed" "sorry nin tank only" "sorry blm only" "sorry mnk only"..... you get my point

pld is reliable, and consistent, BUT slow for xp

im not asking for a complete redux of the job, but maybe some pld only badass dd gear to help us out for xping, make us appealing for more than just tanking gods and hnm's, give us something to offer xp parties, cause as a pld myself ill be the first to admit that we offer nothing now

Melee's don't need an overhaul in a sense, but I guess they do. It depends. Some could use some stuff, others are fine alone. Example: WAR. WAR/NIN, WAR/THF, WAR/WHM, WAR/DRG (Yes, laugh, but Barone armor +TP, let them get like 30% TP in a single jump.) DRG is player/equipment based. As someone said though, they should "zOMG DRG IS TEH GIMPS!" and they use that as an excuse to suck. However, I've seen extremely well equipped DRGs out damage (In XP) DRKs and RNGs...

Then the DRKs and RNGs must be extreme gimps because I've never seen it myself.

I'm currently levelling PLD and I have to say even though I'm skilled and totally pimped out, ninjas will still be chosen over me :/
