Why do I still see people levelling up DRG?

After the ranger nerf, LS asked me to show up on drg/whm or drg/sam sometimes on aspid and fafhogg for either skillchain purposes or healing; especially since wyrm armet makes it so much better.

On regular damage, my high end has been at about 120, while critical for 190. But of course, theres always been those 0 dmg swings. >_>

So are you saying that DRGs exist for the sole purpose of idling in jeuno, because they don't want to partake in endgame activities? It's not like they can do much else. Which brings me back to my original question.

What end-game activities are to you, are something else to other people. Not everyone likes 3 kings/sky/blah. They like other crap maybe? Im sure they wouldnt hit 75, and stay pimping out their job for no reason.

Why the hell am I lvling up my BST to 75, it's the same thing, and we get less party invites than DRG, heck, do you think they'll even let me in the allience for a HNM? Fuck no, everyone else is better, a DRG is more useful subbing rdm/whm/nin/brd/pld/drk and being useful, rather than me, being really shit.

But really, why am I lvling BST? I know when it's 75, it's not gonna get picked over my RDM or BLM for anything, unless it's an all BST/SMN thing, but that's just a specialty case. Im lvling it just for fun, and I assume they are too. I have no end game future on my bst, but I keep lvling it, because I enjoy it.

If I choosed my jobs just to participate in end game crap, I wouldnt have fun at all. Heck my blm hit 75 before alot of HNM knowledge. I had fun with it. And when the nerf comes, all the people who levelled it for "an end game job" are going to quit it, while I stay on blm. Same as True RNG vs people who lvl'd it for an End Game job.

Did 1.3k DMG WS on a deco weapon the other day with a BRD. Rest of WS were consistenly hitting for about 1k. Yea Deco weapons are only VT and there was a BRD and the other melee jobs can do much better, but it just goes to show that with decent gear they can do decently in XP parties.

DRG have no place in endgame. The only thrill I get out of DRG endgame is nailing a 900 dmg WS on a God which although decent, is petty compared to what others can do. Everything else they can do in endgame is mundane.

How does your overall damage compare? Unless you're fighting CoP wyrms there is more to damage than just ws.

Wrong... You don't melee CoP Wyrms because you give them TP faster than you want. So with CoP wyrms, all that matters IS the WS.

On IT XP mobs at 75? AVG of about 100 per hit, plus AVG of 30 per wyvern. Also I've never had my wyvern die against aura statues, deco weapons, or ulegerand range demons.

Wyvern attack are more frequent, but if you want to add the two, 130DMG AVG. Not counting things like crit hits.

Like I said, decent dmg, but doesn't compare to some of the others.

Just curious why everyone has a big problem with DRG not doing teh uber 1337 damage like a DRK or SAM would against gods and such? Their greatest ability is openning SCs after all (the real damage on HNMs and Gods). And they open with some nice damage for just an openning WS. As I understand it most DRG WS require both STR and DEX for modifiers and so you only focus on STR and no DEX you'll be lacking (though some how I bet that the others with the 50+ STR aren't lacking in DEX as they use Neptunal gear which has DEX+ too). Sure SE did screw up here and there with DRG but they are quite powerful too. Openning a SC is what I see them as being their biggest strength. Solo-ing also seems to be quite capable for them (better than most jobs pre-74 atleast). And I always wondered how a DRG/DRK would do 60+. Since the WS are multi-hit WS after all.. using Souleater must bring in some great damage. Anyone able to comment on how a DRG/DRK might be 60+?
