Errant is hardly that good. Do you really see many mages using anything other than the body or pants? And the body is basically just for resting.Originally Posted by FFXIFlux

Depends on the mage really. For RDM, Errant body is really good for nuke/Dark Magic purposes, but yeah otherwise it's good for resting and mostly that's it. Boots are used too, +5MND isn't too shabby when it comes to white-magic based debuffs :3 Gloves, mneh, depends, I like my AF2 gloves over them (yes, I'm a cheap bastard), but MC Bracelet's are better than both if they're activated. Hat, yeah I don't think I've ever seen people use the errant hat seriously >.>Originally Posted by DrObvious
mahatma hat is like best whm hat in wyrm fights
I would think that Chasuble would be better for Dark Magic than Errant body, but I wouldn't know from first hand experienceOriginally Posted by Marcatil
Anyway, I'm not asserting that Errant is useless - far from it. Just that it's not close to being a "god set." If rdm could use Suzaku feet I'd take those any day over Errant feet.
I'm torn on the whole MACC deal. See, INT does sorta the same thing, but as far as nukes, INT would also raise dmg too... Hence bucket of int > skill? >.> Not like our elemental mag is that good anyway <.<
Do you really want to carry around another piece of eqiupment just for an extra -1(2) enmity? Whm af head does the same job, more or less.Originally Posted by Nikko
For a RDM, I'd go skill > int for nuking anything VT+
I'd also prefer +10 skill on my legs over +2 M-Acc on my leg slot for nuking/dark magic.
INT is a set formula for damage, so the amazing 3 damage (per INT) is going to be astounding for your resists.
I'd assume Dark Magic would work similar, but I've heard it's more effected by skill than INT, and since M-Acc and Skill seem to work in similar fashions....
It should be noted that I do not own Chasuble so I cannot test it, I'm basing this off my Errant vs. Duelist vs. Wise in the leg slot tests. If holds true there it should hold true everywhere else.
So, I feel that 10STR or whateversomeodd stat from Shinra set heavily outweighs the 10INT or 10MND on Errant.
I'd still kill for Nashira just because I always wanted to wear a Manteel.
I pulled off a 315 Drain Magic burst on an Aura Statue last night >.> lemme find that SS <3

Odd, other then body and pants from sky, the rest is all just WS/random situational peices. Hell, osode is only really for WS too. So like errant, only one peice is actually used all the time.Originally Posted by Marcatil
Similar? Ya <_<;
Imo, no need for that mahatma hat anymore for WHM with the new raven/crow headpiece with -7/-8 enmity unless you really wanted the extra MND.Originally Posted by DrObvious
Almost every piece of equipment in this game is situational. I don't think there's anything that you can say is the best 100% of the time. I think that depending on your job, god gear has more utility than errant, so I think the comparison was a bad one.Originally Posted by Orfeo
I don't see what's wrong with the Nashira set. It's not something you're going to wear all the pieces of all the time, but individually the pieces have thier uses depending on what other gear you have.
Warlock's Tabard, Duelist's Chapeau, 100% of the time XD >.> Dammit I want that hat >O
I wouldn't wear either of those 100% of the time. If you're on stun duty, af2 body. If you don't have that, Errant. Resting: Errant(or af+1). Curing: Errant.
Nuke in af1 hat, not af2. All other times, I'd leave af2 hat on though.
