For BST :

Heavens +1

* HP +12
* Resist vs. Light +12
* Enmity -2

vs

Melody +1

* Charisma +2
* Latent Effect: Evasion Skill +6




I dont even see where the tough descision is, especially if you're not worried about the enmity. HP+12 wont save you from anything. On BST, if you're getting pounded in the butt from aggro/link/mischarm, it'll hit you for 60-190 dmg a swing.

Melody earring +1. Even so, I use the melody+1/beastly earring for charming. For meleeing, fenrir's earring/beastly earring. Enmity doesn't seem like a huge problem anymore.

it's not too bad if you learn how to manage it. I still get 100% TP without pulling hate most of the time, but I still do pull hate for doing small actions someitmes.

Low level BST with capped +enmity merits was FUN, expecially duoing with someone that has capped -enmity merits and a tamas ring.

It deffinatly hasn't done much in the mid levels though.

edit: Oh ya, there is seriously NO competition between the two. -Emnity does nothing (setsuko will back me up...remember tanking those goobues? ) and light resist is not the same as light staff. +hp ftw?

Eh i havent worried much about +CHR gear in the longest. Since AF i been charming in AF or AF2 now, Apollo's staff, and corsette+1 just fine. I just keep my assualt + minuet/suppa earing in. I thought heavens earings had MP but i guess its hp hehe. But out of those 2 choices i would say melody.

Why would you ever use a Hvn. Earring+1 for BST except to make people say "wow, that person has a Hvn. Earring+1"? Melody+1 ftw >_>

I wear Patroclus's Helm, have max'ed -emnity merits and often wear Raven Body to weapon skill early in the fight (suicidal gobbies tend to leave you with a lot of TP) - at 65 BST -17 emnity makes a very noticable difference to me. In the begining of the fight with an EM pet vs a T-VT gob, a 300 rampage wont turn the mob with -17 emnity.


That said, there is no way in hell I would a. be wearing heaven's earring +1 for charming, or b. be wearing melody earring +1 for fighting... whats the point?

I wear 2x Melody+1 for charming, and Assult+Merman for fighting.
