Maybe for each Wyvna that is killed, AV loses some abilities (like killing the Dragons before DL) possibly the abilities of the Wyvna that was killed (kill the BLM Wyvna and he loses the ability to nuke). Did AV use more than 6 SP's? I saw Manafont, Chainspell, Hundred Fists, Blood Weapon, Mighty Strikes I think which is 5 and I wouldn't count Call Wyvern since that's probably his "Main" job which wouldn't go away (not to mention a Wyvna summoning another Wyvna just sounds silly).

Purely random speculation of course, but it could work.

Edit - Same idea as Lilmage, didn't see his post until after I posted
Hi, thx for reading my post but giving credit to someone else...where I said this very exact thing.

    ORLY?
From what I've seen, there were only 2 (or 3) Wynav's out at any given time. I havent seen any videos, just the posted screenshots.

Dat files show 6 Wynav's. Kite AV down and kill off the 6 wynav's and see what happens ?

lmfao.. im very very very glad we didnt kill this first.
    lmfao......
    <lie>

oh and btw what ur saying is... seeing that making a 75 character at a decent rate is 6months say?+ the huge amount of time for gear... right.think about that time amount.

you are mad because the time it takes to prepare for a monster that is the end of a game that you have proly been playing for 2 years, have nothing really left to do but like u said before the same thing over and over, takes months of preporation and its an all or nothing shot. wtf did u expect and ur actually calling me out for liking it ... imma just laugh and go to class now. kthxs.bye.

    Ok, lets be honest.
Samis is obviously in an uber leet Tu'Lia shell, so lets give him/her something that his/her Tu'Lia ass will understand: Olla / Waters.

Let me explain what sea is like, using Olla and Water.
In Sky, you farm for maybe 45 minutes, or up to four hours, and usually walk off with one Ro'Maeve Water. This one Ro'Maeve water is good for One Olla Paquena spawn. This Olla Paquena, and its subsidaries, are guaranteed stone (I forget which, I havent done Olla in like 3 months lol).

Let me compare this to sea now.
Jailer of Fortitude is spawned the same way. You farm Ghrah M Chips off various Ghrah mobs in sea. The drop rate is somewhat identical. 45 min up to 4 hours to get one chip. But that's not the bad part. To spawn Jailer of Fortitude, you need not once, but TWELVE Ghrah M Chips. Imagine if you had to farm TWELVE Ro'Maeve water's to spawn Olla. But wait, lololol, or wwwwww for you JPosers, that's not all. So you farm for days to get 12 Ghrah M Chips, and you go pop Jailer of Fortitude. You eventually kill it, and what do you get ?? Fortitude Axe. This drop is a weapon, NOT a pop item. So you've killed a NM, but made NO physical progress in sea.

Imagine spawning Olla and getting onry a Snofkung.
    That's sea.

    now shut the fuck up.

I didn't give credit to anyone else (I gave credit to you...kinda, just didn't go back to find it, sorry), just said it was the same idea basically as Lilmage, who posted about the same time I did. All I said was that I was building off something someone else previously.

    You said:

I added onto that giving a possible how and why it might work.

It never takes 45min-4hours to get *one* Ghrah M Chip. Hell I've seen three of them in my treasure pool at once. In 3 hours of duo farming I managed to get 8 Ghrah M Chips (RDM/WHM + NIN/WAR.) This is all in the Grand Palace of Huxzoi, not Ruhmet.

consider yourself fucking lucky then, because in 4 hours in sea, killing any Ghrah's we saw, with 2 TH4's, we walked off with 3.

    Question 3

Berticus: Since Al'Taieu got Jailers and Ix'Aerns, we've killed a modest total of 22. But the pop items weren't 100%, we got more like 50%, and as for the torques and capes, we got 5 out of 22 more like 23%. Comparing Al'Taieu to Tu'Lia, why aren't the pop items 100%, and why are the loot pools so shallow, with 1 torque only per mob.

    Sundi: I don't know. Hahaha.

Ondori: That scares us, you gotta know.

Sundi: Right, well, actually I didn't know until now. So I've got to talk to the Battle Team.

Ondori: But just to reiterate on that, it seems like the pop items - it seems like there's 4 tiers - the pop items along the way are never 100%, and if you get all the way up to a certain point, and you don't get the drop, you have to start all over again. So some people say that that's pretty aggrevating.

Sundi: It could be bugged. It doesn't seem like it's the intentional way to design. Honestly I don't know, so I have to check into it.

Unless the weapons are the key to beating Absolute Virtue, in which case you have made progress. And as previously stated, if the time investment is too much for you, simply don't do it. Problem solved.

I wonder why no one has suggested 3-4 monks with R5 knuckles pounding on JoL as a way to combat regen.

Then again I don't know much about JoL. Does it have really bad aoes? Like enough to drain 2 or 3 dedicated white mages?

Even if virtue weapons are the key to beating Absolute Virtue is a trivial fact if the mob does not drop the damn item to pop the next tier of pop item mobs.

Point being that you would probably need multiple weapons for various people in the LS< and so you would have to kill the jailers multiple times anyway

All those people are going to be on BLM though so you have a chance in hell of defeating Jailer of Love.

We already know how to kill AV, there is no point in all these theories. All those theories for JoL were for nothing, so it will be the same here.

Because when you go to kill Kirin, you only get one set of pop items?

The obvious solution then would be to simply throw in the towel on Al'Taieu gods. If the rewards aren't worth it to you, don't go after them. If you get to Absolute Virtue and wipe, well idk what to say other than oh well. They are worth it to some people, and those people will most likely pioneer a strategy for defeating Absolute Virtue.

If all FFXI boils down to for you is having pre-determined 100% win strategies for every mob in the game just so that you can equip some new item which doesn't really help you anyway since you only fight mobs which you had a 100% win strategy for even before you had this cool new item, then just accept that that's what the game is to you, move on, forget about Absolute Virtue, and go back to killing the 3 kings. If you value your time more than you value an Aureole, a Futsu no mitama, or a Novia earring, then move on and forget about Absolute Virtue. Apparently, just like relic weapons, these items simply are meant for only a select few people in the game. If that's not acceptable to you, take the stance than many already have adpoted with upgraded relic weapons and forget about ever having one, and move on to things that interest you more in the game.

If on the other hand the items are worth it to you, then you have no reason to complain about a monster being hard because you determined beforehand that you are willing to accept the time consuming nature of farming the pops and possibly wiping to any of the Jailers or Absolute Virtue and losing months worth of pops. If you don't agree to that, just don't go after them. Either it's worth it to you, or it's not. Make a decision.
    Amen.

This is about sums up what i think or was trying to say when i said i like the endgame mob. but yea spawning right on top of JoL is pretty vicious.

and btw the peopl who do do this. and someone eventually will. will probably not be forgot for as long as FF is up. im sure Bg is interested in that, so i don't see why when u get a challenge that could make ur ls #1 forever it results in ur attitude...

Curious though, are these all instant casts? If they aren't then a bunch of melees using multi-attack weapons or monks might be viable, interrupt any spells by hitting it a lot ;x

If people are smart enough to get far enough to AV, they are most likely smart enough to try to silence it. Especially if they are getting raped by spells.

Jailer of Love has been beaten once. Just because nuking him a lot worked doesn't mean there isn't another strategy or trick that works better. That's how all of these new things go - they start being impossible and eventually are completely figured out, and routinely killed with a machined precision.

I haven't seen the DATs, but has anyone found the Sins yet? Perhaps those are like anima for Absolute Virtue?
