I was thinking more like stopping regen or something to that sort. Maybe the more wyverns there are, the more regen it has? Just suggestions, I've never fought them.

As far as DL goes...you dont have to kill his pets to kill him. I think we lost 5 times (?) then beat him 5 times in a row. I don't think we ever killed any of the dragons before we started damaging him. We usually just ninja them as far away from everyone as possible for as long as possible, and I think the only time we've ever killed them was after the first round of spirits went off, they just happened to be standing next to DL and got the shit nuked out of them by the BLM's. Of course, he then promptly resummoned them, but it hardly mattered as he's usually pretty close to dead at that point.

Like I said before, and it's probably just pointless to continue to argue the point, as we have not a f'in clue, but the wyvern idea definitely seems to have more merit than chainspell+aspir. At least it's a "long shot" that has no real negative "wtf noob that wont work" flaw to it? Then again, this is how we get progress.

Now that people have had time to collect their thoughts, some interesting ideas have been presented.

Part of the problem was that no one was prepared for an NM of this magnitude. A more organized effort made (expecting his spawn) would likely allow for trying out the wyvern theories at least.

If AV and his wyverns share hate it seems the only way to seperate them would be making use of shadowbinds.

As for the chainspell aspir idea, even if you could aspir him to no MP he still has an AoE TP attack and his 2hr Manafont seems to be what allows him to insta-cast meteor (like Jailer of Faith casts Quake II when using Manafont). Aspir'ing him to 0, though it would help, does not seem likely to make him much easier.

There are only six unique Wynavs. If there were 15 Wyverns each based on a job in the game, there would be 15 entries. It's probably like Ix'Aern DRG where if you kill one, it's simply resummoned ad nauseum.

However, in anticipation for your expected rebuttle, let me state this. Those 3 Wynav's are always up. AV has 6 Wynav's in the files, but only 3 up at a time, so it seems.

Chainspell + Aspir is also a problem due to RDM having an extremely poor capability in Dark Magic (caps at 200 w/o bonuses at lv.75). Regardless how much INT you have, even if you went for the best possible, it will be very difficult to make the Aspir amounts feasible due to the horrible lack of skill and the magnitude of the NM.

DL takes 0 damage from any form of attack until the initial ying and yang are killed.

my mistake, and {Congradulations!} to another clueless tard who tags along the ride in a well planned dynamisxar run by a good leader (i remember one of those in mine... leader had to tell him to switch weapon to sword before using sleeping pots again rofl)

See, the funny thing about flaming people on forums is that most of the time it starts from a simple misunderstanding. Of course you can't damage DL without killing Ying/Yang (when you first run up to the castle entrance, while they are sitting there "guarding" the spot). I figured this was not what the poster I replied to was talking about. I was under the impression he was talking about the Ying/Yang that he spawns after you engage him...staying on topic with the discussion about AV's spawned wyverns. But instead of saying, whoah hold up...which ones are you talking about...you flame and call bs. Then I find it funny how you automatically assume that I'm some sort of leech, or moron that needs to be told how sleeping tp works or that you can't use spirits within with a dagger. GG. And apologizing for derailing a thread, then continuing to derail it is cool too.
