Max combo points for shield skill?

Good evening. Sorry for the bother, but could anyone tell me what is the maximum number of combo points you can spend on shield skill? Is it 3 like evasion/parrying, or is it 6 like with weapons?

Assuming combo points = merit points, its 3 upgrades for a total of 6 skill increases. All defensive skills are 3 increases, offensive skills are 6 increases.

For Combat Skills, the upgrade Combo Max is 9 - so theoretically you could boost your Shield Skill by a maximum of 18 and, if you're a Paladin, incrase your Sheild Skill to a natural base of 294. However, that would preclude you from doing any other Combat Skill upgrades.

Actually Lockercole was correct. Offensive combats cap at 6, Deffensive cap at 3.

I personally 6 sword and 3 eva merits, and both appear blue (a.k.a. capped).
