I think the difference in price, ie, a gameboy costing 100-150 dollars and a new computer costing $2000 throws that comparison out of balance.

Final Fantasy 3 is coming out for the DS.

W/ enhanced graphics, should be hot.

Also FFIV is coming out for the GBA sometime soon too, I saw pics of it on gamespot (unreleated to DS but still cool, ffiv was a pimp game).

Uh, thats just the way business works. Why do people pay $400 for a brand new graphics card, only to have a better one come out 3 months later and pay $600 for it to see minimal (if any) improvement in their pc games?

Hmmm, not entirely true. Depends what you're playing. For extremely high end games, the newest video cards always outbench by a factor of 2-3 or sometimes more when they roll out new architectures or introduce a new core design/fab process.

Also, the product cycle on video cards is 4-6 months.

Wasnt talking about prices. You said people buying a new peice of hardware for their PC (1 part of the whole PC) when a game comes out, which is different than buying a whole new console (the whole system).

And if you're buying PC's for 2k you're getting ripped off ;P Or Alienware. Which is getting ripped off.
