You missed the point... again...

Since I dont know how SE's rolls the gutting process, Keeping my Brigand's chart on me, has two possible effects....
1) Helps me get Pirates Charts faster, because everytime I trade a fish that gets a successfull roll for a chart, must default to Pirates Chart.... or
2) Doesnt help me get Pirates Charts, and when I would have gotten another Brigands Chart instead of nothing, I would get nothing. Which does make my ratio of Marlins Traded to Overall Charts recieved lower, but doesnt affect my Marlins Traded to Pirates Chart ratio, which is the only one I care about.

No... What I said is the effort required, although minimal, to do the Brigands Chart, isnt worth the reward (gil in items from chests) It might be for you, but everyone has a different standard of what "decent income" is. Just because I can get 200gil for every pair of Bat Wings, doesnt mean I'm gonna farm West Ronf Bats all day now does it?

For the last time... The ONLY only chart I care about is the Pirates Chart... And in the 1002 Bhefmel Marlins i've traded to the NPC, i've never traded one to him, when I already had a Pirates Chart on me. So again, the overall rate of Marlins per Pirates Charts wasnt affected.

Are you retarded or something? There are two different charts and he only wants one of them.



On a side note, it should only take 400, not 40,000 marlin to get a knife. (1/(0.05*0.05) (100% is represented by 1, not 100, just like 5% is represented by 0.05).
So you are owed 2.5 knives :<

You know everytime I explained my Formula based on the 5% chance of a 5% chance , everyone I asked agreed with my 0.0025% chance...

But I knew something couldnt be right with the 40,000 number, even tho it checked the Math. Because My 1002 Marlins @ a 3.5% ratio of Pirates Charts, yielded me 28 chances @ a 5% drop rate on dagger.

Since 1002 < 40,000 and i've got more then 20 Chances, something had to be wrong, but your the first to catch it^

If the Kris were 20 mil and common to the auction house I'd consider buying one. I'd sell everything I owned, but I think I'd be able to come up with at least close to that number. Add up the price of all the fish (10K a pop give or take) to obtain this. I'm thinking about those of you who are 0/28+.

It's cheaper to buy, yet, that isnt an option when there's none for sale.

Actually I'm 1/3, technically.

First time: wiped cause I was solo, learned my lesson.
Second time: ring.
3rd time: no ring.

I'm 3/4 on Pengiun Ring from Brigands Chart. I thought the ring was 100% until my 4th run, when I dragged my newly found JP fishing buddy out to bubu, promising him to lot a Pengiun Ring for his trouble.

From what i've read, it's all about getting to the 4th Chest fished up before the timer runs out. And on the 4th Chest you get the Pengiun Ring.
Personally in all 4 attemps i've done, i've never caught a monster, and fished up 4 chests each run w/o a problem. That 4th Run tho, I fished up 4 chests, and didnt get a ring.. I was surprised.

It's not on the fourth chest. I've had a run where I got Mythral Coin, Gold Coin and then 2 Flowerpots. And yes I am pissed that a great fishing ring and the only reason I'm doing this gay quest is being put to waste. '~'

actually, even then its not guaranteed
its like flipping a coin, it doesnt keep a running memory of the last selection, while you may do things like go on different moon phases or days or whatever, its always never going to be 100%, no matter if you go 300 times, or 3000 times, the fact is it just depends on when the server decides one should drop, if its you, hell yeah, if not, try again, or its gil in the drain

40,000 fish, maybe youll get a dagger by then, maybe not, ive done peacock bc 39 times, and i havent SEEN the thing hit treasure pool yet
whereas my friend got 2 in the same night!

point is, cant just go adding up numbers and saying x=y=100% after so long, because if you learn anything from SE, nothin is 100%, except the chances of getting frustrated...

Totally agree with you^^ I assumed people would read that, and understand I was using Laws of Probability and Average, with full knowledge that every chance is a equal chance with no baring on the previous attempts.
