That's kind of happened with our linkshell lately... Just recently attained our 19th Ridill, and basically that's the only reason we camp Fafnir. No one even needs a Hrotti, filled up on those a long time ago. We've been giving away the excess abjurations that no one needs to any onlookers or rival linkshell members there as long as they're not known to be absolute jerks. So we're not so much just trashing them..

I agree with flux. All of the FFXI content has degenerated to doing the same crap over and over, that gives all the best items into the hands of the few.
Take for example, dynamis. I hate dynamis. This part of endgame has to be one of the most repetitive crappy experiences this game has to offer. Like many, many others, I have spent huge amounts of time in dynamis trying to get my hands on relic armor. What do I have to show for it? An ito. I know that there has to be some sort of rarity placed on an item, but the amount of time I have to spend in dynamis to get a single piece of relic is completely fucking nuts, and contradicts everything SE says in their, "Don't forget your work, family friends" crap.
This example rolls over onto other aspects of endgame as well. For land HNMs I spend 3 hours standing in dragon's aery against 150 other people just so I can watch a group of 50 take down fafnir... again. At this point the only reason I see behind going to land camps is to stay in my event linkshell because I do things in real life. Sometimes my linkshell has a 2 week 3 Kings slump, yes, 2 weeks without claiming a king HNM.(adamantoise excluded)
Therefore, I agree with flux that things are getting way too crowded on the endgame scene. On my server 5 linkshells going for Fafnir/Nidhogg at once is not a rare occurence, and I really doubt this will be fixed with the addition of new HNMs. Even if the windows on behemoth, adamantoise or fafnir overlap completely(which is very rare) there are always going to be people camping them.(for example, "Oh, Nidhogg just popped and aspidochelone is due, we'll go to aspidochelone") There will be competition for any HNM square enix throws into the mix. The amont of crowding and unavailibility that exists in FFXI endgame today has turned this game into a huge drag and needs to be fixed.
I disagree. Getting drops in dynamis is luck, sure, but it's at least POSSIBLE for more than one group to get the drops from dynamis. For those of us who aren't in the dominating HNM shells on our respective servers, dynamis is a godsend. I personally have a 1000x better chance of getting 15 full sets of AF2 at this point in time than I do of getting a single m.body, e.body, ridill, or hell even n.head drop.Originally Posted by Flarega
Giving people a place to get good gear that is impossible to monopolize is a fantastic thing for this game, and has allowed me to personally get 3/5 of my pld's AF2 and 3/5 of my war's. It takes a long time to collect for sure, but it's there.
My main wish is for them to make the current gear obtainable, if rare. And while it's now obtainable to NA's as well as JP's thanks to the claim system change (a phenomenally good change), it's still completely out of reach for those of us who's linkshells simply don't have the time/desire to camp for 20+ hours a week just to lose claim to others who have been doing it for years.

MAKE END-GAME DROPS AVAILABLE FROM INSTANCED FIGHTS.
Whether it's from KS99 fights, ENMs, BCNMs, Dynamis-type events, Limbus-type events, I don't care. Just please PLEASE give those of us who have skilled groups but lack the time to camp these hyper-competitive HNMs the opportunity to obtain these drops and abjurations.

Everyone owns at least a couple items already they cant use yet (unleveled job, but will 'maybe' use someday) or a usable item but something extremely situational for a particular main/sub combination.
People give away some drops already because they are running short on space and know they won't use it for a looooong time.
If people farming ridills suddenly have tons more storage, then I don't think you'd ever see them handing out wyrm beards or Aegishjalmr 's any longer, they'll just freelot it between themselves because storage is less of an issue. Obviously they were never obligated to give away that kind of stuff before, but SE limiting storage space does encourage "Loot only what you need'
More storage = increased farming of kings with drops going to a smaller number of people.
I would like to see a NM added to Zeruhn Mines. In all of the updates/patches that have been added to the game, SE still has not added a NM to this zone. Not really end game, but i feel it is worth pointing out.

Anyway, I don't understand your analogy. Genbu, Suzaku, and Seiryu can be killed with 6 people. Hell, Genbu can be soloed. To say that something shouldn't drop good/decent items because it's too easy is silly anyway. Look at Peacock Charm/Amulet, Speed Belt, etc.

For other i think that we need to have a end-game monster that spawns once every 3-6 times Nidhogg, Aspid, or KB is killed that drops all the Abj. that they would with a 100% drop rate... just because it seams to me that it is unfair that they drop so little and so many people want them... it just seams limiting to those who it is hard to get it from because of the low drop rate. and also, Ridill needs to be a way higher drop rate... it is too low in my opinion >_< Also, they could have the Abjs that drop off of monsters besides the ones in Sky drop off of Gods instead of the 100% drop off a monster that spawns in place of the normal HQ HNM... They really need to work on how little people can get this stuff... This is totally just my opinion though...
I disagree, Ridill drop rate is fine as it is, in fact, the system they have with 3 kings is perfect, unfortunately, SE never "really" expected addicts like FI who camp at anytime of the day. BG is a hardcore HNM ls but we don't take it as far as FI is willing to go, they literally camp 24/7, many of times semi-suicidal.To combat this, it would be nice for the 99 BCNMs to have a slight chance (I'd say 1/10 to keep the rare value) to drop an abj. I don't agree for more HQ kings to pop, I'd rather see a JP/NA cut off time zone (rofl yea right) to NMs. For a fix on common NMs haunted by gilsellers, if they don't want to make more items rare/ex, they should make it so that each character may only defeat or participate in defeating a particular NM once per 24 hrs, however this will be too complicated to implement let alone explain.
SE meant certain items to be rare as hell which means it will require alot of work and dedication to attain. Increasing the drop rates on items such as ridill will just destroy its "specialness".
