FFXI player/gil auctions never last long on eBay (I work for eBay community watch actually.. I take down auctions ^^).

Companies such as Playonline/Squaresoft/Microsoft/Nintendo/etc, etc etc.. employee people full time to search sites such as eBay, Amazon, um.. other auction style websites, for people selling things they shouldn't be.

In this case, sale of gil (no matter how you word it on eBay) will get your ass handed to you and your auction taken down, as all Squaresoft has to do is write in and say "remove this auction".
