add efffect for 70 is pretty significant. Would be interesting to see if it can reach that on NM dragons. Going from 0-70 on easy stuff though, averages out at what? 35 ish? or more hits on the lower or higher end?
stupid question, but might light threnody help it hit the top tier of damage regularly? i'm not sure what situation it would be useful on, but i'm having a weird image of a gaggle of gsd swinging drks wailing on a dragon and it makes me laugh.

The other other weapon I know that had a 100% Proct rate was this thing.

Used it in LoO on exp with DRK. Granted it wasn't a Vassago's but it was pretty fun on Toramas.

Thanks. Guess I was a jerk in killing the one left alive, but since I had no idea when the other one was killed only way to get a reliable ToD.

Is it a hard 72 hour spawn? The only information I had been able to find outside the search on these forums had stated they were a 60-72 hour respawn when both had been killed.

I really did my best not to necrobump, searched by both Ascalon & Phanduron, only relevant post I found regarding ToD info was this one. =)
To be honest I really don't know. I am just a hunter/collector, and needed to scratch this off my list. I always just killed both of em did other shit came back in 3 days to check on it. I never checked if it was a variable spawn. But I am nearly 99% sure the one will spawn when you leave the other up on the 24 hour mark. But like I said, I usually killed both.

Good luck though. Personally I can't get F'ing Shii to pop... it's liek the last NM in that zone I need for bingo.

Huh? I don't want to turn this into a dagger debate, but Sirocco's add effect is most certainly affected by the level of the mob you're fighting, as well as its resistance. You won't see many procs above 5 on Mamool Ja, whereas if you're fighting low level tigers or even the Colibri in East Ronfaure (S) you see near-constant 10s.

That's how it's worked for me, so I assume this great sword would take into account the level of the mob also.

Correction: The dagger's proc damage is dictated in part by the mob's level of resistance to wind damage. Mamool are wind based, as they drop wind crystals, and thus, it will proc for less than most other mobs. Some mobs, which are extremely resistant to wind damage, it will instead be nullified, or do even less damage.

It's not the level of the mob which dictates it.

That kukri is so awesome, they should make more weapons with 100% proc rates on anything it hits....

It'd make for an interesting new line of weaponry.

boreas cesti are a low level version of them, and quite effective at their lvl too, iirc. better DoT since each hit does more damage, but since i don't think (correct me if i'm wrong, please) the add effect procs on WS, weaker WS. the downside of it is that it wouldn't work w/ a dnc in the party from what i understand, which is a shame as dnc would probably see good use out of such a weapon since they tend to ws far less, spending their TP elsewhere.

Dammit, stop making me want to camp this damned NM again.

Also: SNK, is that a modded standing stance? It's pretty cool looking.

I'm gonna test this, but I coulda sworn anything over about lv75 always had my damage hitting for 0-5s or less, even on non wind-based mobs.

It works with DNC in party; DNC's effects just won't work. Add effects take priority over DNC effects.

    Re: Phanduron the Condemned

It took me 3 months of monitoring spawn/dying on a mule to finally get an Ascalon. I found it to be well worth the effort, and the additional effect as far as my own experience with the sword goes, was fairly significant. I don't recall exact numbers and it's been a while since I've used it, but I can clearly recall an additional effect landing for 71 damage. Though for each hit where the added effect was high, the actual damage from the sword seemed always a bit lower, making it overall seem to even out. Could have been my imagination though. Good luck farming it whoever is interested. Another fun GSD is Arondight.

Yep. It looks like a cross-over from one of the Mithra modified stances. And before you ask, no I don't know where SNK got it. D:

    Re: Phanduron the Condemned

I solo camped it as rdm/nin when I was leveling DRK. All I did was I buffed myself, then gravity/bind ranger NM, run away to the 2nd tunnel whole back where there is no agro, then force dc. When you come back, you would see the blm is going back by himself, can solo that way I guess. But too bad, I gave up because no drop for like 10+ haha.
