If that is the case I wonder how often he uses it, could kite AV then gang rape the wynavs to do dmg to AV if he spams spirit link (or not, but eh would be cool if it worked)

That's actually not a half bad idea. If that was the actual strategy I would be amazed and applaud square though, currently nothing really involves such a strategy other than "pwn it with blm's".

how is it any different? what do you think is the going to be the best way to kill the Wynavs?

Obviously you've got to make Darkness Skillchains on the Wynavs and have those silly mages just MB.

It's not like BLMs have spells that hit a range of targets and do somewhat-decent damage.

The 4k Mijns they do really help too. Although this would be a nice feature as you could effectivly have 3 alliances doing damage at once (finally make use of all those people in your dynamis linkshell), I doubt thats how it's done. The posts of the first LS to kill Love had said that they'd managed to kill a wyvern I thought. I think it's far more likely it's like floor 3 tememnos where you kill the guards to make the bosses weaker or jailer of never-fucking-drop-your-pop-item which can cast your spells back at you until you kill it's two guards. You probably have to kill 6 wyverns and then AV becomes only impossible until the level cap is raised to 85 instead of impossible until level cap is 150.

Why would you want to kill Absolute Virtue anyway? I mean, it's... Absolute Virtue. It's like killing kittens... which you just fought six evil jailers to free. It makes no sense at all.

I kinda wondered about why you might fight something you just killed a bunch of jailers to set free, too. It'd be hilarious if eventually people discovered AV was just like the Gogo fight in FFV (or Cecil's fight against himself in FFIV). Only I doubt anyone is going to risk their months of sea farming to test it anytime soon.

All you had to do for the Cecil fight was live until you got some trigger to happen right? What do you mean?

sorta but you could not attack, you had to just stand there and take it. if you attacked it would hurt you more than him and you would just die.

Reminds me of the Beatrix fight in FF9... Why don't they have anything like that in this game :/ ... Or maybe they do...

Anyhow, for those not in the know, Beatrix was all but unbeatable in the several encounters against her. I've never tried spending obscene amounts of time getting my characters dozens of levels higher than they should be at the respective points in tine to try and kill her, but they are timed fights - regardless what you do, you just have to survive a set amount of time and she uses an attack that ends the fight. yeah, we need more of that...

The LS on my server that killed JoL got the torque and polearm. Since the event, I have talked with Simd asking who exactly got them. He told me their names, but I haven't run into them to take a screenshot of the equipment.

no facking clue who got the halberd but Scykha (a rdm, not sure if has THF leveled) got the Love Torque. Pretty good RDM though, has a long ass list of solo'd things. Lumberjack, Serket, Cassie, King Artho(?), Lord of Onzozo(?) Alot were pre-SSJ update though.

They do have something like that.. It's called WHM Genkai 5.

Eandh got the halberd. Scykha I believe does have a THF as well and used to sometimes duo some of the NMs you mentioned with a RDM/NIN.
