I've exp'd in sea once, for merits. Rng, thf, nin, rdm, brd, blm...

It was nice exp, probably 6k/hour or so. I just helped my nin tank out by SA+WSing for hate on some mobs that hit him with a bad tp move early, I can evade a lot better so it'd help us all out. I never noticed things go bad at all. It's only a problem when you pull a link and they all reraise lol...

they really aren't that bad, and honestly, a ninja tank isn't your best option in my opinion on those mobs. They have ways of getting past your shadows and putting a killer slow or a silence on you as a tank, so you are going to get hit eventually. We've tried them with warrior/ninja tank (in a tank-style set up, not dmg dealer, though they still do dmg and dual wield axes) and it probably worked better. I'd imagine paladin could fare well too up there. I've had parties ranging from 7-8k/hr in sea, and they were still fairly expirimental. Had we known more about tp moves, and the right party config, as well as an ideal location, we could have pulled off a 9k+/hr rate, without any deaths. You sort of have to work for the exp and remember: job types, what to pull, what not to pull, where to camp for good chains, when to move to keep chains moving, etc. Its not the best EXP but i would much rather exp there then many of the already crowded and overused xp zones.

Although you can no longer do the Aern's elemental XP thing anymore, you can still do manaburns on Aw'aerns in a similar fashion to manaburning in KRT. The Aerns have higher base XP and their RR helps with gaining higher chains. You don't really need to worry about competition as much as in other places.

I've done BLMx5 + BRD and it works pretty well. Even though BRD has problems sleeping them, they simply need to be eliminated ASAP as it's pulled by the BRD (and BRD keeps buffs up). If they RR, a BLM can sleep it.

I haven't tried XP'ing there in a more standard PT yet (as either MNK or BLM) so I can't really comment on what's possible despite their TP moves.

I was in a pt the other day that actually was pulling some malboros. They weren't too bad as long as you had your mages perpendicular to the tank and melee.

...then our puller pulled Voluptuous Vivian by mistake.

how many people would start XPing in Sea if Sea mobs dropped Ancient Coins at the rate of Kindred Seals?

Since I totally hate sea, I try to stay away as much as possible. However, I have exped there on a standard pt, and PLD fared the best. I get the best exp as a manaburn party, but the bright colors give me a headache after awhile.
At HNMs SMN damage is just as good, and you have less hate issues. For Vrtra, I think the least BLM's we had was 7 for the adds, and it was difficult.
