I don't understand why they're adding more jobs when some are still flawed in certain ways. Unless they did that on purpose too.

They might be fixing melees in this coming update. Or they may just nerf all melees and give BLM thundaga 5, either one.

They don't feel the're flawed, and I generally agree. All jobs are useful, all are reasonably balanced. For a game where you can just go to your mog house and change to a different job if you feel the one you're on is too weak, they've done a very good job balancing the different classes. Try any other game where you can't simply change class at whim and you're going to find serious imbalances. EQ has been so fucked up it's unbelieveable, and WoW balance is a moving target since every class gets radically changed every couple months as it's still effectivly in beta and they've never come close to a balance.

What is flawed is the mob TP system and mob AEs. Oh, and dragoons having the most worthless 2hr imagineable.

DRK, DRG, and THF are not balanced end game. Arguably the same could apply for paladin due to diminishing returns on vitality.

I agree drk is just about as useless as it gets, but drg and thf are definitely medium damage utility classes and play that role to the tooth. A properly equiped thf can make up for their low dmg weapons through haste gear. Dunno if you've ever seen a fully hasted thf tripple attacking a few times in a row, but a nonstop stream of attacks tends to add up. In addition to that, they can pull out fairly consistant high damage sharkbites on endgame exp mobs. Drgs are pretty much the same way, orichalum lance made it even better. I have no qualms about inviting either one to a party.

thf has a major use endgame with hate control still, and at least drks get stun and strong WS. drg dps is a fuckin joke, their WS suck, piercing dmg sucks, god im gonna stop now.

i totally agree square needs to fix what they fucked before adding newer jobs. it really wouldnt be that hard.

Unless I missed it, it seems no one mentioned this:

1UP: The reason people fight these sort of monsters is to get the abjurations they need to get their high level armor, like a Paladin would need for his Koenig armor for example. Would you ever also consider adding these items to Kindred Seal battles or something like that?

HT: If the MPK problem can be solved across the board, as you're saying, the situation might get better. So rather than focus on just helping out what high level jobs need to get their top stuff, let's work on something that helps the problem across the board. And if that solution includes shifting where items drop, then so be it; it's something worth considering.

I mentioned that in my post(although I didn't quote from the interview). It just looks like they aren't seriously considering adding abjurations to BCNMs. Looks like a last resort.

Last resort or not, it's still a chance though, no?

Theres a chance SE will listen to what we say, but thats not likely to happen either.

I'm glad SE doesn't listen to a lot of people. Because quite frankly, most people are idiots.

Look what happened to the balance in games like Asheron's Call, where the devs listen too much.

SE does it right. They hear your complaints, do the research, realize most complaints are stupid, but actually consider the few intelligent ones.

Shame that they don't consider addressing complaints made by quite a large portion of the community. For example, the horrible way end game has been implemeneted with the three kings and sea HNMs and wyrms.

DRG doesn't bring a lot to the table, granted. They need to be a higher damage class since they don't have any utility, but DRK are very useful utilty and high damage. THF are basically mandatory if you ever want something to drop. PLD are mandatory.

I really don't know what you think balanced is if you're saying THF and PLD aren't. Most any raid that doesn't have these is screwed. DRK again, don't suck. I'll take 'em in my XP party any time, and they have obvious uses in a raid.

Thf = Treasure hunter. Most ls's don't use them for much if anything else from what I have seen...although you may love having treasure hunter wherever you go, you think Thf's enjoy having their only requirement be they think happy thoughts as a mob dies and hope their job trait helps other people around them?
