I suppose it depends on how often this LS expects you to do shit for them. If I log in every day and have to help them camp something or w/e then F that. There are some days when all I want to do is fish or level my drg in the dunes without getting some guilt trip or point deduction.

Since these rules are clearly stated and known to new applicants then they really can't complain can they? Personally, I would do what many others on this thread suggested and get another LS. The LS doesn't pay my RL monthy fees so if they want to boot me because I want to spend a little "me" time the so be it. And I would never "ask for permission" to do so too.

Only rule I disagree with is the no swearing one, what kinda person above 13 doesn't swear?

My old LS had a no swearing rule and it drove me fucking crazy.

During the time I couldn't swear in LS I swore 10x more in PT/Say/Shout/IRL. It's not good considering you do a lot of talking in LS =)

I understood it, rolled my eyes, and now wondering where the health-care plan is 8)

Hell, if they want to make it seem like a job, might as well as go all out.

except for the no-cussing thing, i doubt most of the rules translate to a work-place environment in game. you have to realize that lsmembers aren't coworkers and bosses and so on, but friends. Because if they arent friends you wouldnt want to stay in the LS (unless you could get something out of it for minimal effort - which the rules tend to prevent). so im sure they are just as friendly and happy with their LS as most of you, and i doubt it feels like a job to most of them most of the time. some of it is a little over the top by my standards, but i can easily see the reasons why being a linksack for my LS. attendance and motivation as well as general linkshell morale are huge problems you have to deal with as a leader, and every rule there is designed to make your job easier and the linkshell more productive, and as a result fun.

like i said though, some are a little over the top. i think 1week notice time really is a bit of a stretch as well as mandatory sea attendance (even w/out sea access). Also, i dont think anything should be wasted because no one wants to spend the points on it (even if they do want it). Thats taking it too far for me as well. i dunno if it works for them, then go for it. When the rules are so clear from the begining for every member, then there should be no arguement. Noone should complain since the rules are so clearly stated from the begining, whether you like them or not, for you to make your CHOICE. If it feels like a job to you, leave the LS, go find a fun, slower paced maybe, but much less restrictive one. Its not like there is a "wrong" path in final fantasy (i guess the ones that get you in jail and banned are wrong, but hey whatever floats your boat).

    my personal favorite:

Starting now, skipping any sea raid (voluntary) is an immediate 100 point djp penalty (1mil) as well as a 5 merit point reduction (instead of 2). Not having sea is no excuse as that is your own fault. Skip a 2nd time and find another linkshell

That is just fuckin retarded, i am sorry. The underlined part...

I thought that was the worst part too. With rules as strict as that, missing hunts will cost you points but how are you supposed to get sea access without missing them? If an LS is hardcore to the point of needing rules like that you'd expect them to be hunting 24/7 and for members to have no free time.
