It's a very good movie. I love how people go into it thinking its a kids book. Parents bring their kids and they're laughing at the childish humor throughout the movie, but BAM, the climax of the movie and all the little kids are shut up and have no clue whats going on. lol The whole theater was quiet for the ending. They did a really good job making this movie, and Harry Potter is a very dark novel, just people don't realize that. The 5th and 6th movie will most likely be rated PG-13, and if they include a "certain scene" from the 6th book in the 6th movie, they'll be pushing an R rating for bloodshed.

I just hope they include the detention from book 5 where Harry's arm bleeds. Screw kids. When I went to see Movie 3, there were only adults in the theater.

Very very rushed... This is where the story really turns for the darker, and it just didn't give enough time to Voldemort's rebirth. I'm not usually nitpicky, but it really bugged me, seeing as how it's one of the biggest events in the books.

Also, anyone notice that how after Wormtail cut off his hand, he didn't even seem to be in pain? Thought that was rather odd, and also at the end, where everyone seemed to be so happy when leaving Hogwart's, even though Cedric had died, and Voldemort had returned....

The movie could have greatly used another 30-45 mins.

They did cut it out... Which pissed me off. They completely cut Winky from the movie, which was a bad fucking idea. Winky was the whole reason why SPEW was started, and they just decided to cut her out. Winky also showed the bad side of Barty Crouch Sr.

If they cut out that part of the story then I am removing myself from being a Harry Potter fan...

All in all, the book was way the fuck better than the movie... The movie was disappointing to me, because the fourth book was my favorite.

Books usually are "better" because movies have so many factors into them that limit them. It costs so much to film and then to make it so it's a reasonable length. Had they produced the film line for line and action for action, it wouldn't be as entertaining and be incrediably long.

I do perfer movies over books, though.

Never bothered to read past the first book, so I wouldn't know how it was compared to the book. Like Avve said though, you will hardly ever see a movie based on a book and say "Wow that was so much better than the book".

As for this movie though, I freakin loved it! Best potter movie yet, definetly going to see it again ^^

I heard the original cut of this film was 7 hours long. o.O
I hope they put all the missing stuff on the DVD release or have a special bladder buster screening soon.

I personally would've liked to have seen a Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire Part 1 and Part 2, each a little over 2hrs long..maybe released 6 months apart.

They had to cut out a lot of shit so the movie didn't last forever, and because of that I think it didn't flow as well as it could have. Having said that, the ending was fking tight as hell and I'll admit I felt kinda gay on the brink of crying in the theater.

Well said. Though, I wish that they would have explained the 'Priori incantantum' or whatever a little better to those that haven't read the book and/or didn't remember.
