It seems to me the rumors stated in the first post of this thread could easily be inferred from that interview (as the op stated "All of this came from Hiromichi Tanaka" anyway) and the recently posted update news on playonline.com... wasn't this covered already in the other thread?

1UP: I'm sure you can't be specific, but is Blue Mage the only job you plan to add to Treasures, or do you plan to add others and/or Summons?

HT: I can't say how many new jobs, but Blue Mage is not the only one. And when you say that new summons were not implemented in Chains of Promathia, you're assuming that Chains of Promathia is already finished... [laughs]

The next version update is currently in development and is scheduled for release in mid-December. Planned content include:

-Additions to the Fellowship system
-New areas
-New quests
-Additions and adjustments to the battle system
-Additions to fishing
...and more additions and changes covering a wide range of activities!

Well... the patch is announced and the information to come up with these rumors are already out there. Other than the CoP mission thing perhaps, the rest should be obvious, since it was announced with the patch already (although not explicitly).

One can easily assume additions to the fellowship system means an increase in the level cap for them and the picture on playonline.com has what looks to be Dynamis-Valkurm (you could guess the other two areas would come with it since they've been mentioned in the dats for a while now). New quests combined with the picture showing diabolos and bahamut may suggest new avatars (especially considering the interview).

This isn't an interpretation of next year or of the new expansion when it says it's about the December update on the site and has the relevant information to draw such conclusions (rumors).

i rarely go to playonline.com unless i DC ingame. I do read most of the news they put out but a lot of the times it's useless stuff that a lot of people (including me) don't really care about. And considering Phoenix submitted to a human before, why not do it again? I think that's the best chance at a new summon. And maybe it'll be a new way to get a summon, instead of just kill it.

It's probably only Diabolos. If you've done certain windy quests you can tell. They pretty much say theres a protocrystal of darkness somewhere in the northlands. Hmmmmmmmmmm I'm thinking PsoXja perhaps.

Well if you're thinking about them being added in the same manner that all the other avatars were added, I would have to agree that it would be a little silly and nonsensical. However, if Zigma is right, it would make sense that they could become avatars if additional chapters to the CoP story explain how it's possible. Bahamut did kinda just fuck off after a certain point in the story line so perhaps he'll come back to admire your power and offer you the chance to beat and use him. I'm sure Square will think up some generic, brainless "story" to justify it. Also, wasn't Fenrir part of the Windurst mission line? I don't know, I've only done San d'Oria's missions so I can't make a point using him as an example but I definitely think Diabolos and Bahamut are possibilities. I seem to remember thinking Diabolos would be summonable after beating him way back as he had the whole animation and glyph when he came out in a cutscene.

Wasn't Diabolos like the father of Dynamis or some weird crap I forget what. Maybe the new 4 Dynamis zones are part of the key to unlocking him? That would suck but it is always a possibility.

Well if you went far enough into the CoP storyline there is an Avatar Gate which is locked in P'soXja.

It's where you get a cutscene after the Diabolos fight. Diabolos maybe?

Wouldn't need to add much to the story. Just a reason why they would aide you.

Fenrir, Carbuncle, Bahamut, Phoenix and Diabolos are all grouped as "Terrestrial Avatars".

If I'm not mistaken you can summon 2 of those already.
